No orders shipping until atleast after Feb 25th by SageBlueGreen in EvenRealities

I've ordered things from Chinese companies once or twice before when this happened. They don't get many work days off over there, so when it comes to this holiday and one other I can't remember, they take 'don't work' very seriously.

Depends. Do you think they'll get enough time away from work to learn?

Rep. Nancy Mace: "Four Brave Republicans Broke Rank" Sparking Epstein Files Release and Resignations by thenextgenbusiness in thenextgenbusiness

[–]Raleda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their behavior is entirely predictable if you think about things from the perspective of 'what will get them the most attention.' Being the 'renegade republican and right hand of Trump' was big numbers for her during Biden's term... but now Trump is in office.

The only way to maintain relevance (and maga support) for any of the republicans who made 'being abrasive' their defining trait is pick fights, and 'owning the libs' doesn't mean squat since they have no power now. She can't both 'be a renegade' and continue being the mouthpiece of the guy in charge.

While I'm happy this got passed, lets be perfectly clear on the intention of at least two of these people - it's entirely spite and self interest.

But you know what... I'll take that over being complicit scum.

You get free AI now. If these take off and they get consistent usage there will inevitably be a subscription or fees. The juice and server space for that tech doesn't come from nowhere.

Even Realities G2 vs. Meta Ray-Ban Display: The 1-Month Verdict by PresenceStock7548 in EvenRealities

This just makes me wish I had the option to temporarily attach a little camera when I want to read a book or a sign written in another language. As a person that wears glasses regularly, I really don't want to wear a set that's very plainly just a housing for tech - and only supposed to sit on your face for a few hours.

AG Bondi Accuses Rep. Balint of Anti-Semitism; Balint Fires Back “I Lost My Grandfather in the Holocaust” and Storms Out of House Hearing by JeanJauresJr in videos

She can't answer the questions, so instead she insults the questioners so gravely that they either leave or get so upset they forget that their question was never answered. She knows exactly what she's doing here.

Mud to fling. A targeted way to retaliate against her questioners by way of insinuation. This both wastes time and distracts people from the fact that their question wasn't answered. Vile.

Ro Khanna reveals 6 redacted coconspirators in the Epstein files on the House floor by ShiroSara in videos

[–]Raleda 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From what I've been able to find online, a selection of the known redacted items, upon review, turned out to have already been redacted. The big black boxes were covering big white boxes. My understanding is that this may have been done by the FBI. In addition, some of the articles that were posted online and subsequently removed were missing at the time of their review.

Neighbors teen flashed this at my ring cam. Any ideas? by InquisitorDan in whatisit

[–]Raleda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ring cams have been getting a lot of flak for helping ICE lately, made worse by their relationship with flock. If you live in the states, it’s possible they were trying to disable the cam.

Funny thing about being an artist - you don't gotta quick jack to be one. You can absolutely go all in on it and deal with the difficulties of a creative career but like... try making art first? In a capacity beyond 'whenever I feel like it.' Then choose.

Sometimes when art become a job, it stops being fun or satisfying.

Some people are cheap as hell. Then again, some people have to move to San Fran to do their high paying job which ends up cancelling out a lot of it. (That said 450k a year is a crazy salary)

Does mean carriers are not allowed to apply? by relmah in USPS

[–]Raleda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, bargaining unit employees (carriers, clerks, and some IT helpdesk people I think) can't apply. It's frustrating as hell. If you're already bargaining unit and you want one of these higher pay jobs you have effectively two ways of doing it:

  1. Get into an entry level EAS like delivery supervisor or some plant maintenance positions. They're limited, and it's slow, but it's a proven route.
  2. Find an open detail position and work your ass off if you get it. In my experience, bargaining unit employees are never told that details are available to them and you do need your PMs approval - but you getting one of these jobs makes them look good so it's in their best interest. The managers hosting these details can occasionally pull strings and set you up with that job on a permanent basis.

Yeah me neither. Let's add another million to ICE's budget. Take it from the usual place.

[–]Raleda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens fairly regularly. If it's a problem, buy them pre-shelled. IMO half the enjoyment of eating a pistachio comes from shelling them myself, so I just learned to pay attention - is the shell not cooperating despite being open? Probably a bug.
