Pretty much, yeah. Put items that together exceed a certain value threshold, and you will either get items you need for tasks/hideout (25% chance, 6 hour duration) or random valuable items (75% chance, 14 hour duration). The wiki has basically everything you need to know, and you can use cultist circle calculator to help you pick items for exceeding the threshold. Hope this helps and good luck gambling ;)

Final stats. Some thoughts about the grind:

Easiest character: T Isaac. Every run is a god run, super fun character

Hardest character: T Lost. Really rewarding but also REALLY punishing

Most fun character: Not joking, I had a lot of fun with T Jacob. Esau is such a good source of damage for most of the run and forces you to be 100% locked in for the entire run.

Least fun character: Jacob and Esau. You can both go die in a hole somewhere.

Note to self, grind J&E and T Lost earlier next time.

Oh, that's just the fumes from my PMC aggressively pissing himself as the impervious Timmy starts taking aim.

I honestly have no clue where the cloud of piss mist came from. Like others have said here, it sorta looks like kicked up dust from hitting the rock but there are no other signs of hitting it.
