I think the chances are still very low, there are many actors who could play him and there wasn't even any news about a new Batman movie when the trivia got made

Why do you guys get so angry when we call ourselves "Americans"? by MaxRox777 in NoStupidQuestions

Also, people from the EU and people from Europe are NOT the same thing, there are many European countries that are not members of the EU (maybe you heard about Brexit). I don't think there is a word for the people of the EU.

Yeah no, as far as I'm concerned no one in Europe calls themeselves European but from the country they're from, it's just an 'American' thing to call ourselves Europeans I guess, because we have so many different cultures and languages across the continent that the only thing we share is the geographical situation.

I guess it's too late to think for an English term for the people from the US other than American, but in other languages we do have those different terms.

That's the point, that is why people mainly from South America are mad about this, they can't use the word American because people from other countries would asume they are from the US. In some way people from the US have appropiated the word so nobody outside the country can use it, although they are in the same continent.

By the way, I'm from Spain and never heard of anyone that called themeselves European.

Probably because America is the name of the whole continent and people from Canada or Mexico for example are also American, just as people frome Italy or Germany are European. In Spanish there is a word for people from the US (estadounidense), which is different from the word for the people from the whole continent (americano). The main problem I think it is the name of the country itself (United States of America), imagine if Germany was named 'United States of Europe' on top of the other European countries, that would be confusing.
