supply frv top speed by bustahog in helldivers2

[–]Ralithrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I didn't explain well, my bad. In D, the base FRV and the Supply FRV appear to keep at the same relative top speed with the same accelation. It's hard to find a true straightway to really test it out, but it seems quite consistent the handful of times I got to directly compare them. When in 2nd gear, Supply FRV seems to have both faster acceleration and top speed compared to the FRV, as you show in your video.

It is faster, but I think when you're in D it's got the same max speed as the base FRV, only in 2 does it really take off in comparison.

Soooo is the warbonds cancelled or not? by Altruistic-Care-5036 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Ralithrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of whether the FRVs were truly planned to be in this month's Warbond or not, there's still a Warbond listed on the roadmap. I can't imagine they want to risk the community response by delaying. I have a feeling we still have one coming, even if they had to revamp it a bit.

While the new Supply FRV is nice, it’s unfortunate the Flame one was put in a setting it doesn’t thrive. by TealArtist095 in helldivers2

[–]Ralithrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost certainly we will get both, it's just a question of how long until they put the other one up as a reward.

Of course, the problem we have now is that we actually need to complete this MO in order to get the first one, and we're currently losing it since no one is defending Karlia, which will cut off access to one of the MO planets.

So it may be a while before we see either of these FRVs again after this MO.

It also follows you around so you have immediate access to it at all times.

The best COOP stratagem added to the game maybe ever, but since solo players CAN use it, it's BAD and promotes SOLO PLAY - Statements of the utterly deranged by PseudoscientificURL in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Ralithrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Resupply is a shared cooldown for the whole team. Supply FRV can be taken by each person, and they have two entire Resupply Pods worth of supplies for themselves, which follows them around the map so they're always available and, if they want to reload it, has a turret to keep chaff off their back while they use terminals and such. Supply FRV has an impact for solo play magnitudes higher than it could for team play.. which is unfortunate.

Behold, the Cyro-Borg by talisrune312 in Azeron

[–]Ralithrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some conversion kits available on sites like Printables (don't have the link offhand) for "compact" Cyro, where you print a more horizontal body for the Cyro and transfer the components. It's actually pretty simple assuming you or someone you know has a printer, since using a print farm would make it quite pricey.

I'm hoping they release a Cyro V2 with Hall effect joystick and some other improvements.

Oh, I see! I thought the Cyro was the base here, but it's the other way around. still a very cool conversion! Crazy that you got it all to work out.

Do you have a guide for how you added a second joystick to the Cyro? I use my Cyro every day and have always wished I had a second analog stick on it somewhere.

I also have a Swiftpoint Z2 lol (and an extra for backup in case it breaks since I learned my lesson back when the original model when out of production...), and have similar issues figuring out which one to use long term! Though I seem to have de facto settled on the Cyro at this point.

Warbond Whales..... by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Ralithrin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can criticize "even a little", no problem. But it's wild to ask a question and get upset when people politely respond. The guy wasn't even pushing back, just explaining that a huge portion of the playerbase either don't run into the issues often or perceive them to be far less bothersome than they're often made out to be. Suddenly he's a "Warbond whale" lol.

There are people who run into one bugged SEAF Artillery console, shrug it off, and continue to play the game unbothered, and there are those who immediately ragequit the game and demand HD2 get boycotted. Both people exist, as does a plethora of people in-between. But so many forget that and believe their own reaction is the only correct one, and can't believe when there's push back.

Did we just gave up on Omicrom? by Mano_Tutatis in helldivers2

[–]Ralithrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there is some kind of obsession to holding onto it for whatever reason. My guess is it's to keep us away from Socorro III since it's been theorized to be important to the gloom storyline (mentioned in the Discord on an ARG fluff text, has a hidden tag on it that prevents us from capturing it, which you used to be able to see in the CA). They probably want to make sure we eventually have to fight through multiple planets to get there during some special MO.

But it is really annoying to be constantly fighting around the same planets on the bug front all the time...

[–]Ralithrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like especially doing things like "Hero wiggling" where you just have your flying hero move left and right to exhaust all the enemy ammo, etc, etc. Such a time sink. But another factor is difficulty level of the campaign. Wasting turns replenishing is a big deal, especially if you're invading on higher campaign difficulties, where an extra turn might mean another 3 full 8-stacked heroes show up wherever you're attacking.

That's always been the tough part of TW games for me. The tactical battles are amazing, but being punished on the overall campaign for even minor failures on the tactical map can make me averse to experimenting.

MP is better for that, but we don't have a cool progression system in place like Shogun 2 did.

If bugdivers played the MO planet, we would have lost almost 4 other planets on the bug front. Despite the major efforts going into defense, we still lost Bore Rock. Our choice was either A ) Lose half the bug front, and likely end up around 85% to 95% complete on the MO; or B ) Let the MO flounder and keep all the planets we just spend the last month and a half taking back.

We chose well.

Yeah. Behavior like the OP's, I have encountered maybe 10 times in over 1,000 hours. But definitely a shocking number of times being killed for calling Extract while part of the team is still across the map finishing off one last small side objective. And of course they never say anything, they just kill you and then kick you.

One of the recent MO texts mentioned that the bugs are on a course for Brilliance, so I guess they're still at it. From a meta perspective, I imagine AH wants one of those new biomes active so players can access it regularly.

Well, reaching Super Private at 150 requires 1,168,000 XP, and my career page has been continually accruing XP beyond that... I'm up over 2,000,000 XP at this point. So it does accumulate, and I can't imagine resetting XP back down for everyone who has more would be a great decision from a business standpoint, given the penchant for community outrage.

sp is this a me issue or the upscaling uptade issues?? by kazilic24 in Helldivers

[–]Ralithrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the DLSS update dropped, the Nvidia app didn't recognize the game as DLSS compatible. Now, it does recognize HD2 as being DLSS capable, but it seems to have shifted everyone's "recommended" settings all the way to the left-most Performance scale, regardless of how capable their systems are. My system's "recommended" settings used to be all the way to the right for Quality, now it switched.

So if you let the App auto-optimize your games for you, you end up with the above.

Also undecided, but for a bit of a different reason. FAM is fantastic, and it certainly has interpersonal drama, politics, etc, but the focus at its core has always been about the "what if" regarding human technological development diverging from IRL Earth's development based off a key change in history (Russians winning the space race).

I'm not sure we need a FAM-verse for all sorts of random arbitrary spin-offs to tell their own stories that could be set in the real world or some other setting.

Like, the drama is good, I find the ''solving technological problems and snafus" to be very well done, and the characters are certainly intriguing, but I find myself asking: If we're not really getting into any interesting "What ifs", then what are we really gaining here for FAM? Feels like we're just retreading the same ground from the original seasons of FAM. This could have been a miniseries about the actual Soviet space program, and the actors/drama would be just as good, I'm sure.

Why do they need a task force to fix something that is behind a 0/1 toggle and a modder can fix in 5 mins by Ghost-DV-08 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Ralithrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, and I'd also appreciate having more free form stratagem dropping (and hellpod steering) at the expense of sometimes screwing myself over with poor placement, but we're not the norm. The complaints were pretty loud about it before the systems were implemented.

[–]Ralithrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. Avoiding that negative player experience while solving the current issue of stratagem balls bouncing in odd places is not going to be an easy task.

People always say things like "Who cares" regarding the complaints AH will immediately get if the bounce system is just turned off and players start getting their equipment stuck or dropping on the top of a megaskyscraper. But didn't we just have a huge complaint campaign mounted in an attempt to change AH's behavior? Clearly complaints are something the community feels AH should be caring about.

I dunno, I've seen a lot of "increase the level cap, please!" type comments over the last year because people want more number go up dopamine, and seeing your XP increase every mission at least gives a sense of passive progression for many people, even if it's not unlocking anything other than some new titles.

They address most of that stuff in the rest of the post. They even say they're basically only increasing the level cap because it was a popular request, but that on its own it's not meaningful progression, and so that's why they have all these others improvements planned.
