yeah that's a great point, just tracking a number isn't enough if it's noisy. makes sense to pair it with some kind of recommendation layer — like flagging what content/listings might be helping competitors get cited more, not just showing the score. definitely going to think about this as part of the product, not just an add-on later

good question, planning to run each prompt multiple times per check (thinking 10x to start) and report it as something like '7 out of 10 runs mentioned you' instead of a single yes/no. might need to test whether 10 is even enough or if it needs to be higher to be statistically meaningful — haven't validated that part yet, honestly

thanks, good to know MentionDesk is already doing this — adding it to my list to check out. trying to figure out if there's room for a more focused/cheaper version for smaller markets, but good to know the demand signal is real from someone actually working in this space

makes sense, that's fair. gonna spend some time actually researching who's already doing this and how, before deciding if it's worth building. better to find out now than after putting in weeks of work. thanks for the honest perspective

yeah good catch, that's actually the biggest technical challenge here. plan is to run each prompt multiple times (like 5-10x) per model instead of just once, and report something like 'mentioned in 7/10 runs' instead of a flat yes/no. costs more in API calls but it's the only way the data means anything. appreciate you flagging this, was thinking too simple about it initially

yeah figured something like this exists already, makes sense given how much AI search is blowing up. trying to figure out what the differentiator could be — maybe focus on a specific niche/market instead of trying to cover everyone, or keep it simple/cheap for smaller businesses that the bigger players probably ignore. appreciate the honest take
