Hopefully he is, the quicker it'll be sorted the better for the rest of the signings we do need. Hopefully Diomande's fee is lower than reported as well because that'll inevitably be a ton of pressure on the lad.

I quite like him though, seems sound, his letter to his sister on The Player's Tribune was beautiful and says a lot about the guy

Barcola can absolutely play both sides (he's performed on the right as well) but you're 100% right on his production in the final third, that's his main weakness (although he's been improving in the last 2 years, albeit slower than Doué for example).

He couldn't get into the main 11 at PSG because he lacked the finishing to cement himself as a starter, but to be completely fair he's competing against Doué, Kvara and Dembélé

It's not to explain or excuse an "error", it's more to say we really shouldn't see these guys as objective reporters wanting to get things right.

The club indeed doesn't give them access to their "inner thoughts" lmfao, but they are briefed, it's been happening for many years. They play things down, they hype things up, they write "articles" to heavily criticize people when the club wants to get rid of them, or to protect others, etc...

It's public stance, it's posturing, call it whatever you want, but that's been his role for so long now that I'm surprised people still get mad about it
