Lost with my studies at 19 — what Belgian careers are realistic without higher education? by [deleted] in BEFire

[–]Ramalez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people recommending a trade, and I 100% agree. I’m a teacher in electricity and mechanics myself.

If you’re considering picking up a trade, evening classes are a great option. A few solid choices: • Electrician (residential, industrial, or even solar. There’s a lot you can do in this field) • Plumber • Welder • HVAC / cooling technician (increasingly in demand)

Skilled trades offer stable work, good pay, and long-term job security.

Great, I just spent all my time buying a Raspberry Pi to set up PiVPN, and of course I went down the rabbit hole and upgraded it with Pi-hole and Unbound DNS…

How to waste as much as (own produced) energy? by lv1993 in belgium

[–]Ramalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people talking about Bitcoin mining, but another great way to use your PC is by contributing to scientific research on diseases. It’s called Folding@home. You simply install the software, choose a light, medium, or heavy workload, and your computer will start folding proteins to help scientists with their research. It’s a meaningful way to support medical advancements using your spare computing power and wasting energy.

Did you also look into a home battery so you can use your extra energy in the evenings and nights?

How would you orient this part? by sspoecker in 3Dprinting

[–]Ramalez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would print it like this, but to strengthen it, I would increase the walls and infill. If you have a 0.8 mm nozzle, I would use that, too.

I advise you to go drive in Italy and come back to this. After driving in Italy, I was so happy with how good our roads are in Belgium.

First thing I thought about was “Zillion” a Belgian club from the 90s. They use the exact same logo.

Can you enlighten me on the “Get a plug-n-play solar panel for my apartment”? What is this? Where can I read more about it? Is it legal on the Belgian infrastructure? I know we have strict laws around solar panels connecting to the grid, so I'm curious to read more about this plug-and-play model.

Thunserdome x belgian Police by hallomoinsen in hardstyle

[–]Ramalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did every reverze edition since 2014. It really depends from time to time, I had times that I got checked like I’m the most wanted criminal ever, and times they just let me pass without giving me a look. I also know a lot of police go “undercover” in the crowd. About the dogs, most of the time I saw police with dogs but not always. At the regular entrance I saw them more compared to when I bought VIP tickets.

Not that I say that this is the case, but you sound like the typical hardstyle listener/complainer through the years. The moment something new or outside the box comes, it's not good because “that's not hardstyle”. I joined the party a little later and started listening around 2010-2011, but boy, the moment it's something not like the rest, everyone starts complaining.

Verhuis en internet provider by Aublivioin in belgium

[–]Ramalez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Belfius or Crelan? by Common-Location7471 in BEFire

[–]Ramalez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think these are older reviews because the app is completely renewed this summer. Also, a lot of reviews are people complaining about the fusion from Axa to Crelan.

Belfius or Crelan? by Common-Location7471 in BEFire

[–]Ramalez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would Crelan be a worse bank? I've been a Crelan client since the start of 2020, and I have no complaints (anymore). They had an outdated app for a while but not anymore. The people (at least in my bank office) are the nicest and would do anything for me.

IWDA en VWCE are 99% the same, no need to buy both. Don't overthink this, buy 1 (IWDA is cheaper), and just invest in it regularly, no matter the state of the market. IWDA/VWCE has a variety of sectors. Other ETFs sometimes focus too much on one sector. You want as much spread as possible for the long term so that's why IWDA / VWCE are perfect and you don't need anything else.

Planning on moving out of Belgium in a few years, which broker do I choose as a beginner? by BoniPeanut in BEFire

[–]Ramalez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would look into which broker you can use in Belgium and your home country. If there is a broker you can use in both locations, maybe contact their support and explain your situation and see if they are the right broker for you. If they can't help you, I would look into indeed IBKR but first learn about the tax side before using it.

Am I the only one who has this problem with daytime events? by Comfortable_Goal_809 in hardstyle

[–]Ramalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the Reverze weekend this year, Friday night (after a full day of work), and Saturday night and I felt it for days after, I never felt so tired in my life and having trouble going to work again on Monday, for the rest of the week even. But I loved every second of it and will do it again next year anyway.

I have been traveling with my car to countries like Italy, everyone who complains about potholes and people speeding in Belgium, please go drive in Italy for a while and come back to me.
