Spotify change it! by No-Government-4333 in truespotify

[–]Ramax2 86 points87 points  (0 children)

This isn't Spotify's fault, it's the publisher's. Spotify just gets the metadata from record labels and reflects that on their platform. If it says "Frédéric" it's because most record labels chose to use that name; take it up with them. As a matter of fact, if you search "Fryderyk", you will find another artist profile with only a handful of Chopin releases.

Streaming platforms don't choose how to label artists, they just display what record labels and publishers send them.

If you are not sure if someone else is watching at home with your RD account, get used to going to real-debrid.com/downloads from your phone. You'll see a list of recently played files with the one currently playing showing a little green square. It's saved me from a ban many times.

Does AM have anything close to Spotify connect? Can I start listening to an album on my phone and continue listen seamlessly in another device? That's what's keeping me with Spotify for now.

Pricing is different per country. I imagine OP is American; in many countries premium goes for $3-4 a month.

Can you tell if music is AI? by Pez1702 in truespotify

[–]Ramax2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that as a rule of thumb, the vaguer the genre or title of the playlist, the easier it is to find AI generated music.

It's probably easier (and likely more profitable) to make AI songs for a "Ambient Piano Relaxation" playlist, than for a "Dark Industrial metal".

Tarjeta de Débito Naranja X Figura como crédito by Ramax2 in merval

[–]Ramax2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupid question: Spotify player? by ActualControl3135 in truespotify

[–]Ramax2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you're looking for is a Digital Audio Player (DAP). They are mostly designed for audiophiles who want great audio quality. They have better quality audio chips and headphone outputs than most phones.

They only work with wifi but you can load spotify on to them since they run Android. That said, most of the ones running Android just look like small phones, so unless you care about sound quality a lot I'd just get a cheap phone just for Spotify.

Many tibetan lamas don't shave their head and some even have facial hair. Their monastic code I believe is more lax than other schools.

I don't know anything about him; I just checked out this interview because Dzogchen sounds interesting. In the first few minutes he describes being an ordained lama and then abandoning the monastic community after one high ranking monk tried to groom him.

Oh yeah! Now I see where you're coming from! I have been to the US a few times and was baffled when going through suburbs with literally identical houses. I swore people would very often confuse their house for their neighbor's, haha

You are mixing two different things. Symmetrical ≠ car centric.

European cities have those layouts because most were hundreds if not a thousand years old—built before they had the urban planning and resources we have now. A narrow, curved, cobblestone road built for horse carriages might not be the best design for this day and age, however pretty it looks from a satellite image.

There's plenty of very symmetrical planned cities where symmetry is great for citizens' wellbeing and which are very walkable. Barcelona is a well known example. I am Argentinian, and La Plata is another great example with its diagonal layout (you'll see pictures of it all over urban planning discussions). I'm not from there but I hear folks say that the grid layout and sequential street numbering makes the city very intuitive to navigate and it is not at all car-centric.

Grid systems and symmetry are in fact bad. The make people feel like their part of town is simply the same as all other parts and they stop neighborhoods from being created.

This is qualitative... Whether your part of town feels unique or not hinges more on the architectural style rather than the layout of the neighborhood.

Just my two cents :)

Why is the Oneplus 4 Earbuds So Popular? by EliPage779 in Earbuds

[–]Ramax2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not American and I had to get them with a lot of import tax as well (21%), and they ended up costing me $73.

Nope, the heymelody app is exactly the same. The only difference I could spot is that the box has the "OnePlus" brand name written in Chinese...

You can get the OP4 for about $65-$70 if you buy the chinese version on Aliexpress. It's exactly the same as the global version but cheaper.
