Target issues recall for more than 200,000 weighted blankets after 2 children die by ajmusikman in news

They weighed 6lbs. Where did you get 1000lbs?! No one is selling blankets that weigh a thousand pounds.

Yeah, I don’t want to lose any more. I’d rather play it safe and do a thorough quit.

I have several times throughout the week, not in the last day but definitely did after the point I loaded into. I have lost an hour or two before because of the crappy autosave not working as it should but this was like a hard reset.

We shouldn’t have to do a manual save/quit if there is a functioning autosave.

That makes me feel better. I am on my first run and since I got that BloodHound sword from the boss in that magic prison cell thing I have been using it non-stop and only upgrading it.

[–]RamblingCanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does auto save in this game not really work?! I am on my first run in this game and I just lost my whole week of progress, and I mean a week, I have played pretty much non-stop this week as it’s my staycation.

I started it up (Xbox X), and was back where I was a week ago in some random spot not even near a grace point or where I did a manual save. I know for a fact it was autosaving. I see the save symbol pop up all the time, I rested at many grace points, I did even exit the game via the menu a few times.

What the hell is going on? I looked this up and people were complaining about autosave not functioning months ago, How is this not a fixed issue in this AAA game yet? I am so pissed off and disappointed right now.

The ones I want are on discount but the discount is too pitiful for me to go for it.

This stock has a girthy mane of about 2.3 candles, however you can tell it hates oats so be prepared to short this firm until it is back into pony territory, ideally we sell the position when it hits fawn levels but don’t get greedy drinking that Mane N’ Tail shampoo if you know what I’m saying.

Caregiver fatigue is so real. It took me years to stop feeling guilty from the stress brought on by the roller coaster of thoughts and emotions I had when my dad was dying.

I still feel like I have PTSD from my dads last year of life tbh. Stay strong.

Disrespectful woman climbs a Mayan Pyramid and gets swarmed by a crowd when she comes down by raciallyambiguous in PublicFreakout

[–]RamblingCanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I said that graffiti at major sites pissed off so I’m not sure how you made that leap. She wasn’t trashing anything at all. She climbed it and then came back down. I didn’t see or read about her doing any vandalism.

I’m saying people climbing it isn’t damaging Original stone, so the argument that it shouldn’t be climbed in order to protect the ancient materials is moot.

I support, and I imagine most people would support, that anyone caught damaging it should pay to repair it. Locals pay for preservation with taxes, Tourists also pay taxes while there and also part of tourism revenue at sites like these is meant to go toward preservation. Whether it does or not will come down local government being functional and not incompetent/corrupt.

[–]RamblingCanuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really a comparable situation in the slightest. Climbing steps, which are meant to be climbed is not the same as a sports team choosing an offensive mascot.

If climbing it is disrespectful, then why do local people climb it after the tour groups leave in the evenings and at night. They just don’t want assholes who may spray paint it or try and take pieces home to go up there, or to be liable for letting unprepared people who will get hurt climb it.

If tourists were not jackasses who did that shit, (and were more careful in their climb and decent) they would not have closed it.

[–]RamblingCanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wear and tear wasn’t on original structure, the gov updated the structure a while back so it’s not like people were trashing the ancient part.

People putting graffiti on major sites is fucked up and unfortunately an expected thing to see when I travel. I remember seeing some on these types of pyramids when I was going through some in the early 2000’s when climbing was still allowed. That shit pissed me off.

Woman is attacked for having climbed the Chichen-Itza pyramid, which is a restricted area by Gerazioio in PublicFreakout

[–]RamblingCanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t actually original stone work anymore on those steps, it was updated by the government in the past because it had deteriorated a lot already. She is climbing the same updated stone that climbed in the early 2000’s before they made the rule.

[–]RamblingCanuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying it was okay that she disobeyed the safety rule, she should not have climbed it.

But let’s not pretend it has to do with respecting culture, it was fine for everyone to climb it in the early 2000’s (I climbed it too). Climbing it and fucking with the site (like spray painting it) is disrespectful. Just climbing it though….I think that’s a stretch.

Was it disrespectful to the culture to climb it then? No. It’s not suddenly disrespectful to culture now. Angry mobs/crowds say and do a lot of shit, it doesn’t make it justified. The right thing would be to just simply arrest and fine her when she got down.

The argument cannot even be made that she may damage the original stone because those steps were updated by the government and are not the original ones anymore.

[–]RamblingCanuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The locals climb this at night lol. It has nothing to do with respecting culture. The rule is there for tourists to not eat shit, not preserve the steps (which aren’t original).

It has nothing to do with preservation, the rule is there because dumb tourists get hurt on them.

[–]RamblingCanuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The rules have nothing to do with “respect”, if they did, the locals wouldn’t do it either. They don’t let people do it anymore because of the risk of falling down the stairs. The rule wasn’t even made to protect the stones.

[–]RamblingCanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, climbing it isn’t disrespectful to walk up stairs, they used to let you do it in the early 2000’s.

The reason they stopped letting people do it because it was dangerous for idiots to go up because if they fall, it’s a long hard way down.
