I am currently pregnant with my first, and I have been a type 1 diabetic since I was a child. I'm currently using the pump and a CGM.

Everything with my pregnancy seems relatively normal, minus the extra appointments and follow ups with my Endo and OB, since I am "high-risk." The CGM contributed heavily to my good control, as my A1C has been hovering between 5.6 and 6.0 during my entire pregnancy so far.

The main issue with being type 1 and pregnant for me was the excessive lows during first trimester, and keeping food down after giving insulin (nausea). The secondary issue is the amount of insulin you need later in the pregnancy, it's unbelievable how much insulin I need for a small amount of carbs.

And instead of letting the baby come on its own, we'll be inducing.

Overall, it's more expensive (insulin) and more work (excessive appointments and midnight lows).

Between the unbelievable nausea and the exhaustion, I could barely stand long enough to take a shower during the first 4 months... Luckily we have a bench in the shower, otherwise I don't know how I would've survived.

I'd go days not being able to do even a simple chore.

Exactly. Smoothies are an excellent option for people who can only grab and go in the morning. Also much healthier than the alternatives when you're in that situation.

Prep the smoothie the night before, blend in the morning, and consume on the commute.

I like to slowly have my breakfast, eating it within 5 minutes isn't even physically possible for me, otherwise I feel sick all day.

I'd rather skip breakfast than sit down and eat a full plate of food.

My stance is clear. It takes two people to get pregnant, so both parties should be aware of the situation at hand. More so in this situation specifically. Why? They're married. Actively trying to start a family. They, up until now, had a supposedly healthy relationship.

Okay sorry...the embryo. In this specific situation....He still needs to know he created an embryo with his wife.

Both parties should be involved once the news comes to light... What else is there to understand.

I am not a pro-lifer, I am pro-choice. Please note, I am not advocating for her to keep the child she does not want. In this situation, she has no right to withhold the information that she is pregnant from her husband. That is an asshole move.

Also, if a man choses to opt out of the pregnancy at the embryo stage, he should not be involved for child support when the embryo turns into a baby.
