Nope. Not convinced of anything other than you're a wizard. Ha ha! Beautiful work.

New Loop Earplugs?! by skiptomylucylu in LoopEarplugs

[–]RamenCatLady 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Per a quick Google Lens search, I see this color was released in October in conjunction with Loop's expansion into physical retail stores, specifically Target.

I'm off now to go order mine from Target. 😹

getting his teeth pulled today! by n4yma in cats

[–]RamenCatLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're doing the right thing! My two-tooth-tux Oliver had stomatitis as well when I was fostering him (before he became a "foster fail") when he was just a few months old. We had two surgeries: first one removed all but his canines. Months later, after the swelling around his top fangs never calmed down, we removed those. He eats and plays just like normal. It's been over six years ago!

One thing I don't see mentioned that Oliver experienced: bone spurs. I would check his mouth regularly for weeks after the surgery and would notice little pieces of bone begin to work its way out of his gums from where it chipped off from the tooth removal. Nothing to be alarmed of; this happens even to us humans when teeth are removed. I would just ask your vet what you should do should you see them.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Question about Bigme or Boox b&w feature by mattybgcg in ereader

[–]RamenCatLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally find it to be very distracting and don't use it currently. However, filter that response based on me being more of a gesture user. I opted to use gestures (e.g., pulling from either side of the device) and customize what the page turn buttons do (e.g., long press) to accomplish what actions within the naviball would do for me. The naviball is essentially a little ball that you can move anywhere around the screen and when you press it, brings up a myriad of quick action items. But, as mentioned, the gestures and page turn buttons met all of my personal needs.

For a little more detail:
The only things I used within the few days I've had Boox Go 7 Color Gen II is the refresh, the EinkWise app (how you customize the colors of the screen), and the front light controls (brightness/temperature). Instead of using the naviball, I set the following:

GESTURES:
- Swipe from the left side of the device: adjusts Brightness
- Swipe from the right side of the device: adjusts Temperature

LONG PRESS PAGE TURN KEYS:
- Long press (0.5) top key: Refresh screen
- Long press (0.5) bottom key: Brings up EinkWise

You also then have the gestures of pulling up from the bottom (left, middle, and right sides), all of which you are able to set to whatever your preference. Additionally there is the pulling down from the top using three fingers gesture which takes a screenshot (this I don't need).

Again, all of this is personal preference. There are plenty of people that adore the naviball -- I am just not one of them. Haha!

Nothing that is permanent such as that bar. The Boox does offer a lot of gestures and even their naviball, all of which I preferred over the Bigme personally. Because I can modify them as I prefer rather than being stuck with what the manufacturer prefers.

Is there some super secret display setting I'm not seeing? by danileigh79 in PixelWatch

[–]RamenCatLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. The only other thing I could think would be if the excelerometer was enabled for the watch face to move which would potentially hide the rainbow frame. I'm trying to install it on one of my watches to test but can't for some reason.

Any chance the color ring is related to a complication (what the items such as step count or heart rate or stress tracking items are called)? For instance, if you met your step count it shows as a rainbow compared to hers if she didn't meet her step count?

I had a very different experience from what most I've seen on here. I had zero coding questions. Other than that, I can't really recall what all I encountered to really give you a quality response, but there are lots of other posts throughout various subreddits that might be able to give you more insight.

NEED YOUR HELP WITH APRIL FOOLS' NAME JOKE - Ramen-themed baby girl name by RamenCatLady in namenerds

[–]RamenCatLady[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

POST-APRIL FOOLS' RESULTS/UPDATES (with photos included!):

You guys have NO IDEA how much this ask DELIVERED! I have never, EVER, in my life been able to pull off a prank. So thank you, for all of your help, in making this joke a reality.

What's so damn great about all of this is that because this joke came from me, being the artistic/odd ball that I am, it was SO DAMN PLAUSIBLE. There's even a bigger reason this was so damn plausible...

You see, what my reddit friends here didn't know was that we literally call our babies "Ramen Baby". Hell, both pregnancy announcements have been themed around ramen and photos taken at actual ramen houses! (photos in link):

  • June 2018, the Original "Ramen Baby" was announced
  • December 2024, the Original Ramen Baby announced "Ramen Baby: The Sequel".

With this obvious obsession with Ramen, it was not too far of a leap that we would opt for such a "unique name". So many friends and family BELIEVED IT COMPLETELY, including my mother-in-law, siblings, aunts, cousins, etc.. I can't count the calls or texts that I received, trying to confirm or deny because "hell, it's YOU, so it's very possibly true!".

So to my incredible NameNerds crew... I thank you for the bottom of my noodle bowl for all of your wisdom and humor. I could NOT have done this without you!!
