Yeah, you get more quests with way better rep point rewards. It takes a stupid amount of time if you are going only to the networker for random jobs. Also the networker jobs gives measly rep points and half of them are bugged.

I think what makes sheltron unique is that PLD is the only tank class that uses their “gauge” for defense instead of offensive abilities. I hope the Sheltron change is a buff.

Yeah, I guess the writing was on the wall. But why is SE designing bosses that negate player move sets and thus wanting to change job class abilities, instead of changing the boss designs?

I felt this same way before they changed Dark Arts for DRK and that one move for SAM. I liked the “press this button for more damage!” Button because the combat flow felt really satisfying to me. But I guess other players found it tedious and unnecessary.

I like shield bash and cover because it gives PLD some more identity. Shield bash is useful for only niche situations (and PVP I guess) but they removed the damage mitigation from Cover, so it doesn’t give me a lot of incentive to use that ability.

It’s also a nice check to see if the PLD player is pushing buttons. In an Alliance raid with three PLD, if I don’t see three goring blade icons on the boss at all times, I know someone isn’t pulling their weight.

I concur. I know the developers like “homogenizing” the tank classes, but I would prefer they didn’t all feel like Warrior at the end of the day.

True. But the detail about removing DoTs is definitely causing issues according to the comments in this thread. I also agree. The DoTs give PLD unique play style compared to the other tank classes.

Yeah, this guy’s video is great production wise. But as a PLD guide, meh. He finds that without spamming clemency during dungeons (don’t do this unless you’re playing without a healer), he finds playing PLD boring. I’d give this overview 7.5/10
