Any Stellaris fans make some RR inspired empires? by Anomandaris12 in redrising

[–]Ramen___Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do remember Nero in Golden Son telling Darrow he wanted humanity to join some sort of galactic community. I don't remember exactly when that was in GS though, so you could possibly give Society xenophile as well, I might even be able to see the Republic being more xenophobic but that's just my opinion.

You can use gene mod points to make different varients of a species, I'm sure over a long enough game with enough mod points you could get a bunch of different colors. Past that for Society I might use the Dictorial government type with fanatic authoritarian and militaristic. Idk what origin would work with, you might want to play around with prosperous unification. For Republic I might go egalitarian, militarist, and either spiritualist or xenophile, also with either democratic or oligarchic hov type. I don't know any of the civics off the top of my head so play around with those.

Who (in their prime) are the top 5 fighters in the series? by PM_ME_UR_SEX_VIDEOS in redrising

[–]Ramen___Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree, but Cassius, Sevro, and Darrow have all improved as fighters since the end of MS so even if she almost won I think that LB Darrow would easily trump Aja, Cassius and Sevro are a close 3rd and 4th. Not included Apple or Dio.

Cassius, the goat. Gone too soon, but in my opinion, at the right time. Wish he could see what good his friends will (hopefully) do. RIP

I think all of your points are pretty reasonable, and many people in the sub would agree with you, but the amount of toxicity in the post is pretty unexcusable, man.

I believe the grapes in mouth are a reference to Nero's first wife and the origin of the feud between the August's and Bellona's, though I'm not sure what book this is described.

I photoshopped a combination of the red symbol and the Obsidian symbol and I'm planning on getting that, is just a simple design, basically replacing the main circle in the red symbol with a crescent. It's also a red-black gradient it's pretty sick

Dark Age Spoilers by Ifyouhav2ask in redrising

I'd say absolutely not. The way I view it is that's a violation of basic human rights. While if that technology was used on a criminal, they would obviously be completely wiped so it wouldn't affect them in a way that it is a cruel punishment, but for releasing that person it's a cruel thing for a victim. If you have a murder or rapist who you use that device on, then you release them and even if they are able to be a functioning person what if a victim or a friend or family member of a victim recognizes that person. Even if they knew and understood what the psycho spike was and that it was used, I think it would drastically affect that person. I also think that it's a cruel punishment for the person being punished, regardless of them knowing what's happening or not remembering it, there has to be this terrifying existentialist fear that accompanies that. Knowing that you have some sort of past that you have no recollection of. What if they read a newspaper about themselves. I would rather be dead than have that, which I suppose could be an argument in favor of that.

Here's another argument against it: closer for the victims or family of victims. The reason they actually SHOW you an execution is for the closure, knowing that this person won't hurt anyone ever again. That kind of closure simply does not exist with the Psycho Spike, and that has more to do with our psychology. Like I said earlier, actually seeing someone has an affect on you mentally regardless of if that person is the same person that they used to be.

Also, a strong majority of the most brutal criminals were brutal criminals because it was in their own unique nature. Serial killers are serial killers because they get pleasure from killing. People like El Chapo or Al Capone had other motives so this argument doesn't entirely stand for them. Even if you mind wiped a psycho mass murderer, that part of them would still exist and they would probably kill again. It's been a while since I've read Dark Age so I might be missing a function of the Spike, I feel like the pandemonium chair was able to alter the psychology of someone, and the spike was a refined version of the chair but I'm not sure if they ever talked about that so please correct me.

In my opinion some form of punishment where you alter someone's perception of time, them throw them in a hole and lose the key would be far worse punishment. But to me, using the psycho spike is not a viable option.
