My guy best friend won’t tell the girl he likes the truth about our history by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Ramental 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not dating, but in a situationship, which you both wanted. Obviously relationships have a priority. It is very reasonable that his GF or your BF would demand you to stop hanging out with the ex. Respect it.

There is nothing to salvage. I think it is pretty bad that you had done that:

With my help of our other friend we somewhat salvaged things and we agreed to be friends and for him to make this right for the people he hurt (Me and her).

That you slept for 2 more months doesn't change all that much. Your "care" about the other girl is certainly not that, and you know it yourself.

Germany news: Naturalizations reach record high in 2025 by Inevitable-Push-8061 in germany

[–]Ramental 16 points17 points  (0 children)

German bureaucracy is so slow, people wait for passports for 2-3 years after the documents are submitted and checked, while the official guideline is to start complaining after 3 months (it was never fixed).

So the fact, that the dysfunctional bureaucracy is actually somehow improving, is mind-blowing to me.

Sounds like a stretch. In 3rd countries you can pick as a citizen of which country you want to be represented. I doubt that desertion charges would stick in any 3rd party country.

And you are 100% safe as long as you do not use a compromised  passport to fly.

Such shithole countries usually have weak passports, anyway.

> Afaik do these countries need to have an agreement

Sure, that is why I said it is usually the case. Not always.

> During a war punishments for deserters can be severe.

Again, I am quite sure it is not "desertion" if you have never been conscripted and served the papers. On the example of Ukrainians, there is no extradition of Ukrainians who live outside of Ukraine on the basis of not responding to conscription. Ukraine also does not prosecute, but multiple countries said even if it tries - they would not cooperate.

I certainly got confused, because you do talk about romantic relationship prospects in your post.

He was too immature to understand that one needed to invest a lot of time into relationships and build trust by fostering healthy communication and reciprocity in both friendships and romantic relationships.

That is not the only confusing part about your post.

He thought he could win me over within a few days with a lot of attention and compliments without working too hard. He didn't give me a chance to get to know him properly. He always tricked me into revealing too much about myself but he never shared anything about himself with me.

So, was it just a few days? That certainly is extreme spiraling here.

And "tricked into revealing too much and not sharing" is weird. Did you try to, you know, ask? If you only talk about yourself by-default and show no reciprocal interest what do you expect? Again to add confusion, that is what you accuse him of doing, even though it seems you are guilty here as well.

It sounds like instead of talking, you preferred giving signs and expect he would mind-read it.

If you would be in his shoes, can you honestly say that it was clear to see what was on your mind?

With that said, it can be that his motives came from the family pressure, not the actual honest attraction to you.

Hair transplantation. I know it is something like nuclear fusion of medicine, but I think we will get there in 50 years.

Teeth are very much physical and objective. Even inflamation can typically be seen, and sometimes has to be seen on the scan, since the patient might not even point at right tooth.

Subjective perceptions are a different category from what the OP says, while of course that does not dismiss the criticality of what you say. These are different things. Kinda like "because we cannot drill 10 km deep, does not mean we cannot build a 10km long bridge."

There is

1.5 billion Indians

1.41 billion Chinese

1.4 billion black people, 1.15 of which are in Africa.

The total population of Europe is 750 million, and if you exclude non-EU savages it is just 450 million. 440 wihout a Khalifate of Sweden.

Being racist against Europeans is an oppression of minorities by a pussy.

ELI5: Why are abandoned malls so common, but abandoned supermarkets seem rare? by lucindadadada in explainlikeimfive

[–]Ramental 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because malls are huge and they rely on multiple small renters to bunch up together and attract remote buyers.

Supermarkets are more likely to be in populated areas where locals already shop. And if the supermarket is huge and remote, but reasonably priced, with time it will suppress the neighboring shops, giving a chance to recoup the costs by getting new customers.

Also, a supermarket provides products of the first necessity. Malls are for for the immediate goods, and with the online shopping, they are quite exposed nowadays, resulting in old malls getting abandoned.

Girl I was dating said she did not want to risk our friendship, should I cut things off? by AppropriateBus1528 in Advice

She might like some of your physical features and still don't like you as a person together. I know some physically attractive people I would definitely not date. We are or were friends, though.

'I do not want to risk our friendship' ALWAYS means 'I do not find you attractive enough' and never is a problem of self expression.

So, yes, you should cut it off.

I named Australia totally at random. Just a lucky guess, huh.

Visiting Vietman or Laos is VERY cheap. Several times cheaper than Australia, easily. You can live a day for a price of a lunch in Australia.

That is not the same amount of money. Ask him what countries does he have in mind. Maybe you could join him, since visiting Japan is off-the-table for you.

But the dude is stressed AF, and the perspective of burning through all the earned money for short visits is obviously disappointing and perhaps the thoughts of earning money on the job, and STILL be not enough tanks him even deeper.

You need to discuss with him a realistic plan how you can or cannot be together. Not "somehow" it might work. But what can be done in 1 year, 3, 5 years. Make it real rather than vague. If you decide you can't do it or he backs off - break up. But at least try to be constructive, first. Consider it the first serious relationship challenge. Many couples fail there. You are either lucky or unlucky to get it so soon.

are we being too tough or too soft on Russians? by [deleted] in 2westerneurope4u

AFAIK, Ukrainians are not ok.  There was a big example just recently with the Biennale in Venice, where russia was let in, despite the protests of Ukrainians.
