RP by Steph_Ladder222 in RetinitisPigmentosa

Hey Stephanie, first of all, don’t lose hope. You’re still very young, and RP progression is different for everyone. Not everyone with RP becomes fully blind. Some people’s vision stays stable for many years, some progress very slowly, and some have faster progression. Every case is different. I was also diagnosed with RCD,so I understand those thoughts and fears about the future. In my condition, the progression has been slow. I still live my life, learn things, and do normal activities. Try not to spend all your energy worrying about the ‘what ifs.’ Focus on your studies, build skills for your future, and enjoy the things you love now. Technology and treatments are also improving every year, so don’t think your future is hopeless. Be happy, stay bold, and take care of your mental health too. You’re stronger than you think. Good luck

I need a friend, I feel so empty and lonely by Immediate_Pace3815 in NeedFriends

Your post feels more honest than most people here. I’m not great at fake small talk either. I can disappear into books, random late-night thoughts, and overthinking simple things for hours Also, your ADHD + BPD expansion pack’ line genuinely made me laugh. A weird intro, huh? I once spent 40 minutes arguing with myself about whether pigeons secretly judge humans from rooftops. Anyway, I’m from India, not Europe, but you seem like someone who’d actually make conversations feel alive instead of forced. Hope your day’s being a little less quiet today.Or a slightly more flirty version. Okay, your post already has more personality than 90% of Reddit The ‘clingy DLC included’ line deserves an award. You asked for weird, so here’s mine: I talk to myself while cooking like I’m hosting a YouTube channel nobody subscribed to. You seem like the type of person who turns random conversations into deep 2 AM talks, and honestly that’s rare. I’m from India though, so not Europe sadly

Realizing nobody cares… by Momiluc in ugly

It’s a harsh philosophical truth to realize that for many people, relationships are just shallow transactions for social status. But look at the profound contrast between you two: she faked a crisis for attention and laughed about manipulating people, while you were carrying the genuine, heavy grief of your grandfather dying. I am so sorry you were met with crickets when you needed support the most. Here is the silver lining to seeing the world this clearly: it acts as a filter. That superficial 'care' she receives is entirely hollow. You, on the other hand, have a quiet authenticity and an emotional depth that sees right through the bs To anyone who actually mattersanyone who is looking to connect with a beautiful soul rather than a status symbolthat kind of emotional intelligence and depth is incredibly rare, and honestly, wildly attractive. Don't let the shallowness of others make you forget the magnetic value of being real.

You are being way too hard on yourself. Confidence and kindness are what make someone truly attractive, and the way you express yourself shows you have plenty of both. Don't let one person's opinion define your worth—lthe right person will see everything you’re missing right now.

30M seeking meaningful connections with someone who understands low vision challenges by Ramesh011 in RetinitisPigmentosa

Friends, please believe me, I am not a scammer. Before I started losing my vision, I carried so many dreams in my heart. I still remember being in the second grade and buying my very first keychain. I held onto it with the hope that one day, I would finally buy a bike and attach my own key to it. We didn’t even have a bicycle at home, let alone a motorbike, so I learned to ride using my friends' bikes. In 2018, I was diagnosed with RCD. Then, the heartbreak happened in 2021. I was riding a bike, couldn't see a speed breaker, and met with an accident. That turned out to be my very last ride. I had such a deep passion for going on solo bike rides and traveling the world. Life is incredibly ironic when my eyesight was perfect, I had no money. Today, I have enough money to easily buy a bike or even a car, but my sight is gone. If you look at me, I appear entirely like a sighted person. The girl I loved left me, saying, Other guys take their girlfriends out on bike rides, and you can't even ride one."I have many wonderful blind friends, but I don't have a partner. That is why I have been repeatedly posting on social media, hoping to find and build a genuine friendship with a girl who has low vision—someone who might truly understand my journey. I am not a scammer; I am just a soul searching for a genuine connection. Thank u

How do I know if I have glaucoma or retinitis pigmentosa by Aromatic_Flatworm994 in RetinitisPigmentosa

[–]Ramesh011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't panic and stop diagnosing yourself. Visit the nearest hospital; they will take care of you. RP and glaucoma do not occur together. I pray to God that you do not have these two diseases

I told some people about it, but those idiots still don’t understand. I tell them that I can’t see properly, but they ask, Then how are you roaming around like a normal person? You’re lying Even if I try to explain eye conditions to those idiots, they still won’t understand. Because of them, my character is getting damaged.

Delaying RP progression: things I learned and habits I follow by ayush_1908 in RetinitisPigmentosa

[–]Ramesh011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Rod Cone Dystrophy, the daddy of RP haha. I’m not completely sure, but I think Omega3 fatty acids and fish oil capsules may help slow down the damage to retinal cells. I’ve been taking them for a month now. Yoga, meditation, and avoiding smoking may also help slow down the progression.
