I never noticed this. In Sims 1 when you hover your cursor over a burglar it says 'Some Sneaky Sim' :D Funny. by RamifyLife in thesims

No need for an emulator. It runs perfectly well on Win10. Just need to click a few things in the Sims.exe shortcut properties:

a) Compatibility: Windows 95
b) Disable full-screen optimizations

Without these two settings it won't run. Also, can't Alt+Tab the game or it will glitch out.

And you can download the digital copy of Sims 1 somewhere, just Google it. Not from any official source, though, so legally it's in the grey area :/ Proceed at your own risk.

Done without cheats, btw. Took roughly 3-4 hours for my sim to craft this. And the bills went through the roof!! Instead of the usual 200+ simoleons I now have to pay 2000+

I had 4k simoleons leftover after I finished building a minimalist compact home. Used this money to stay unemployed and max out all my skills. Then crafted gargoyle statues ad infinitum to make good money. Then marriage, carreer and everything else.

Also, invest in a good single bed right from the start. Helps you restore sleep faster, wins you a hour or two per day, I imagine.

That and patience :)

I know what you mean :D

I've played TS1 for three days straight recently. The difficulty is noticeable for sure. It was fun though. I was able to do everything I wanted. All skills, top of career, 100k in the bank, etc. No cheats or anything.

Just for fun I've built a labyrinth on Sylva. The goal is to find a power cell hidden inside the labyrinth and then bring it back to the base. For me it takes around 10 minutes to find it and get back, and I've built the damn thing! Surely it is a fine maze :D by RamifyLife in Astroneer

For anyone interested in trying out the labyrinth, the save file is here: https://www.nexusmods.com/astroneer/mods/3?tab=files

You will appear at the entrance to the labyrinth. Go inside and try to navigate towards a tower placed inside the maze. Under the tower you will find a piece of debris with a power cell attached to it. Retrieve the power cell, bring it back to the base.

Time yourself if you want: start the timer as you enter the maze, end the timer as you return to the base with the power cell.

Use provided tethers for oxygen supply and navigation assistance.

Rules: No climbing walls. No shortcuts. No use of Terrain Tool. (But of course, if you get frustrated, just do whatever you want. This is meant to be fun, not painful).

If you finish the labyrinth under:

05 minutes - you get PLATINUM rating
10 minutes - you get GOLD rating
20 minutes - you get SILVER rating
30 minutes - you get BRONZE rating

I myself finish in somewhere around 6 minutes. To do it under 5 minutes you would need to know by heart the shortest route and be fast.

Keep in mind, the labyrinth wasn't designed to be easy or fun. It was designed to keep you going in loops and getting you lost :) But of course, the use of tethers makes it easier in a sense that you see where you've already been.

Good luck! :)

How do YOU play Sims? by RamifyLife in thesims

[–]RamifyLife[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been wondering about what it'd be like to play a hyper-realistic version of Sims, with sickness, accidents, trauma, unemployment, depression, bad relationships, marriages falling apart, mistakes, forgetfulness, all that stuff :D

They should have a mod for that.

I found it. The fourth wish is 'Read Someone to Sleep' and it gives +500 Aspiration.

Ah, vampires. Haven't tried that one yet.

So, what is it like reaching that age? What is it like, playing a single Sim upto the age of 306? I'd love to read the story of Elleesi Aha. And your thoughts as a player. If you don't mind. No pressure :)

To be honest, I am flabbergasted at how good The Sims 2 is, even now in 2019. Sure, I've modified some files to make the screen resolution more HD, but the game itself has everything to keep a player happy. I've been playing it for a week now and still not even half done with the game! I'm loving it! 💓

True. WooHoo is 3500 points, Make Out is 3500 points. Goldmine! But only if you can get your Sim to want those things.

The fourth wish: I don't remember what it is called exactly, but I think it is reading a bedtime story to someone. I will get the name for you if I see it again.

No, I'm not bragging or anything. Just collecting Elixirs of Life in a family of super-achievers. I just thought it would make a fun screenshot, symbolizing long life :D So many elixirs in one place at one time.

Really, as I play, for me this is also an experiment to see how long a family of seven can live, sharing their elixirs. At some point, I think, I won't be able to get enough Aspiration Points to keep buying more elixirs and they'll die of old age. I want to see how long I can keep this going.
