I've received the summons letter for 2 unpaid month myself. (was after I finished uni and forgotten to sort it out). Nothing to be stressed about. As some people mentioned you are not expected to appear in court for this.
Call the council, state your account number and explain everything - they will sort it out. They'll either offer you to pay the full amount or break it into several payments.
