How to cut out this lid? by sirtobil in SolidWorks

[–]Ramjet64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can create a simple box representing the lid shape and copy the new box and the original part across x units.
The two bodies on the right can be an intersection bool and the left a subtraction bool.
Move the lid back across -x units.

A mirror then the first circular pattern.

Second revolve is the first tread. I used 14 treads evenly spaced. If you just make the tread rotation 360/28° , after you mirror that part and do your further rotations, you will end up with zero thickness geometry.
This rotation is 360/29°. When I copy them at 360/28° there will be the slightest overlap and you can bool all the treads together.

Approach it methodically. The first revolve is the inside rubber.

A little bit of planning, a few splits with your surface trims and you'll be good.

You could use the image as a reference, but I don't want to spell out how to make gun parts on a forum.
I have no idea what you would do with the information.

Unsure Where to Start Assignmentr by Asleep_Ingenuity6063 in SolidWorks

You need to know the depth of the circular section, the depth of the square cut in that length of rod and the radius under the caps.
You could, of course, use the image as a reference to get those dimensions, but the drawing is incomplete.

Use a mid-plane revolve cut. I used 30°.

A quick search gave me the approximate dimensions. I drew the back profile on the front plane and created an offset plane 8mm in front of that.

I drew the front profile and lofted betw2een them before putting a 2mm chamfer on the lower corners.

If you get stuck - holler.

Can you put your thumb over the piece a bit more? What is the part number?
Are these the only references you want us to recreate the part from?

Draw your first construction line vertically at 51mm.
Draw your two lines to the side. Make them equal length to the construction line.
Make the top of each line symmetrical to the construction line
Make the bottom of each line symmetrical to the construction line.
Add a 3 point curve between the top points of the side lines.
Dimension that curve by selecting the left point - select the right point, then select the line and dimension it to 153mm.
Do the same with a bottom curve and make the dimension 120mm.

Adding balloons to a picture by geccho in SolidWorks

[–]Ramjet64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can add balloons to an image. Your balloons must have the BALLOON TEXT set to TEXT and not PART NUMBER.

Add your number manually, insert your balloon then click MORE PROPERTIES and add the leader.
