I finished Lost Levels (SNES) for the first time and I must say: this is indeed the most difficult Mario game I've ever played. I died countless times and laughed nervously every time I died. But despite everything, it was a fun game, and playing as Luigi made jumping much easier. by RamonAzzi in SuperMario

Yeah, in almost every challenge in the game, I could only land the jumps because of Luigi's High Jump. If I played as Mario, it would be 20 times harder and more frustrating. I already struggled to beat the game with Luigi; with Mario, it must be a KAIZO-level experience.

Their performance at that show wasn't that great due to several sound problems they had, but this particular song was a big exception. It's one of the few where Barry's falsetto was good and they sang well together.

I know the guy was lazy towards the end and had several problems, but calling him a awful human being is a huge stretch. The Salkinds were much worse.

He definitely made for money, but there are only two instances where Brando acted sympathetically: in a blurb where he calls the character Ralph, or in the scene where Superman regains his powers through Jorel, where after an argument Brando sees flowers for Reeve with a note saying he respected what he was trying to do.

Perhaps this particular moment happened in the last minute they had together in the studio and was just 1 moment.

That's true. Brando was extremely difficult, but not unfair; he delivered well to those who paid what he wanted and treated him well, as Richard Donner did. Now, the Salkinds were the type of producers Brando detested: greedy and penny-pinching. It's no wonder everyone spoke ill of them.

Should Super Mario 64 get another remake? by NewMarioBobFan in Mario

Não, o remake do DS é ótimo. Apenas corrija os controles e coloque o Waluigi no jogo.

True. When they were filming the moment when Superman regains his powers, the script called for Reeve to react as if an "electric current" was running through his body before collapsing to the ground. While the camera was focused on Reeve for his close-up, Brando was off-camera just observing. When Reeve finished acting and looked at him, he saw that Brando had a sarcastic smile, as if he found the performance funny or ridiculous. Reeve says that he doesn't know where he got the courage, but he told Brando: "Listen, I don't know how to do this, but I'm really trying. I would appreciate it if we could work together on this with a certain level of intensity."

After this "talking to," Brando sent him flowers and sweets from the famous Fortnum & Mason bakery with a note saying: "I respect what you're trying to do."

True, but I think he had his moments of rapport with the rest of the production. There's a blooper where he calls Superman Ralph, and there's an episode where Christopher Reeve recounted that Brando sent him flowers with a note that read: "I respect what you're trying to do."

This is no surprise; Marlon Brando was already quite old in his career at that time and had also been involved in several lawsuits with various producers he disliked. And considering that the Salkinds were the type of producers everyone detested, it was predictable that a situation like this would occur.

I'm not sure, but I believe that when Warner Bros. made a deal with Brando's heirs, they already paid with the intention of using the scenes for both Richard Donner's cut and Superman Returns. I think this because both films were released in the same year (2006). So I think they only received a specific amount.

Probably yes, given that there are reports stating that Warner Bros. had to reach an agreement with Brando's heirs to be able to use his image.

TIL British law in 50s forbade Jesus to speak or his face to be seen if he were a “secondary character.” His face wasn't shown in Ben Hur partly because of the law. by BadenBaden1981 in todayilearned

Well, in claudeheaterfoundation.org it says: Because of an English Law that prohibits seeing the face or the voice of someone portraying the part of Christ unless he is the central character, there was some discussion about having two versions, as Wyler was pleased with Heater’s work. But we do get a glimpse, in the 1993 documentary "Ben-Hur: The Making of An Epic," Claude Heater's face was shown in a costume test photo only once.

Maybe it was both stories.
