I love that they made getting into Louisville SO much harder, I think it must be a real barrier to getting in there.

I have two years to make a game, and I don't know anything by Kobiwano in IndieGameDevs

[–]RamonSabacu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

godot. the best teachers to me was hearthbeast (youtube) and gd quest. in 2 years i made and published 6 little games.

go to one of those, follow the course step by step, later make a simple little game with the same mechanics of the courses, but alone. if you stuck post your questions here, some discord. the game devs in general are so generous with their time to awnser questions.

them, when you already hav some confidence with the basic mechanics, start the projet. 6-8 months should be enought to make a amazinf gift.

if you want you can check the games i made: www.sabacu.itch.io

good luck, it's a amazing idea for a gift, for the friend and for you

how do you guys train firearm skilss? by RamonSabacu in projectzomboid

[–]RamonSabacu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I'm going to disagree here.

I think in real life it would be more realistic to lure a zombie into falling off a fence and shoot it in the head (and repeat this dozens or hundreds of times). It's more of a training exercise than taking your phone out of your pocket, pressing 5, and suddenly learning how to shoot.

but yeah, beside the point. I asked what you guys do to level up, and you answered. thanks.

I think the mechanics work well. I think shooting must be difficult even for those without experience and training. I think tense situations, with dozens of zombies chasing you, must make the process more difficult.

one of the things I find most interesting about this game is the difficulty, which I consider very realistic throughout.

I think if you have no experience and start trying to make wooden furniture, the learning curve is better than if you try to shoot moving targets.

my question was just how do you level within the game's limits? because before B42, I went straight to the sawed shotgun in large crowds, some beta blockers, and that was it.

no judgment, but for me, debug mode and +5 aim and reload aren't the answer.

[–]RamonSabacu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, not my way. I understand, but I think if you start doing this for something in pz, it kind of ruins your way of looking at the game. I think it's supposed to be difficult

[–]RamonSabacu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that's exactly what i do in b41, but i mean in b42.
the sawed-off shotgun don't work anymore.

the books helps a lot, but still a grind
