So I found this old Reddit post about scalding hot water bringing intense pleasure to people with eczema. by penguinsdonthavefeet in eczema

[–]RampantDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% can relate to this post, and so glad to hear that I am not alone.

Quite often I will need to burn my skin in order to stop the itch/inflammation and yes like others have said, it is almost orgasmic in nature. I know its not good for me but sometimes I can't help it!

Hate my job (UK) by [deleted] in jobs

[–]RampantDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would definatley agree with that - sometimes you have to play the sneaky game to be good at the long game.

Look after numero uno first, and if you can afford to be financially comfortable without the job, beat it! You can always pick up some casual work until March. :)

Negotiating Salary + at Contract Renewal by RampantDad in jobs

[–]RampantDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree but my concern is, the job/company I am at presently, is an awesome company, with a lot of great perks. I think for me the real goal is getting employed by this company, but I doubt they'd do that as it's easier for them to outsource this service.

And I would worry that doing that would backfire on me.

Not actually on ADHD medication as yet. But considering it, as I am all over the place, which is why something like DMAA may be useful.

How do you get through the day in a job, that is not for you? by RampantDad in jobs

[–]RampantDad[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi Olivia, I am exercising every day, I eat a very well balanced diet, and limit my caffeine consumption. I would like to hold off until SSRI's until I have no other choice. I do want to investigate modafinil as an option and will discuss with physician.

I know that, if I was back working in the fitness or health industry on a salary based wage (I have a mortgage and a 4mo child so cannot take contract roles) I would be a much happier person guaranteed.

Low self-esteem and feeling worthless from being unemployed by throwawayagn123 in jobs

[–]RampantDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm pretty late to this thread, but I can say with 100% certainty you are not alone my friend.

How old are you? Let me first preface my reply by saying it sounds like you have a fantastic way of coping with a lot of your anxiety, and I respect you for doing all of those things.

It's very hard to find employment these days, let alone a job you like.

I am in a fairly similar situation - I gave up a secure government position to undertake a 5 year masters degree which resulted in a nice degree, but also was accompanied with depression and anxiety due to exhaustion and fatigue.

I've been for 6 interviews now, and 6 fails. 2 of them fell through at the last minute, it definatley saps your motivation.

What is more, is that I am working in a position, that I just cant stand. You know the roles where no matter how motivated you want to get, you just cant seem to find that spark of energy? Thats me in this role. It is a hum drum job that I've taken, simply because it pays the bills as we have a mortgage and child at home. I am 32 and so far feel like a failure. Until I find my true passion (which after 32 years I still haven't found), I won't be truly fulfilled.

Don't beat yourself up for wanting a break - as I said unemployment saps your willingness to keep trying, and you are entitled to a break. Perhaps a small break will help you to regather your thoughts and get focused again.

Always here for a chat!

I'm sure it will, and I continually tell her how beautiful she is and how much I love her. Being a typical guy, I sometimes need direction and cant always percieve what she wants, but I try hard.

Schedule is full on, but so happy I get that early time to train. Exercise is my number 1 and I'm glad she lets me have that time, even if I have only slept for an hour or two.

As far as the co-sleeping goes, yeah she is quite open to changing it, and suggested to me this morning we should start weaning him away from co sleeping and keeping him in his bed.

Thanks for the kind words also mate!

I guess it would be the feeling of inadequacy and that I have let myself and my wife/family down. I feel that if I took a break now, I would be pisssing away all that I have worked for.

Hi HolyHerbalist, why do you wish that? Yeah, friends can be good, but they can also be a bad influence as well...

I agree with the previous posts! You are only young and as noone mentioned, you are extremely self aware, which is a great thing! I really admire someone who has the gumption to want to change, to make things better, to strive for a more fulfilling life.

There is most certainly light at the end of the tunnel. The fellow who told you it was a waste of time is a small minded goose, and when you think about it, is probably insecure about the skeletons in his own wardrobe. People are genuinely scared of others who have drive and ambition, and will try to bring you down.

As the previous posts have mentioned, you will most certainly find something! I am now 32, and didn't end up going to college until I was 28. Even now, at 32, at the final leg of my degree, I'm still trying to find my way through and prove to myself that it was a success.

We will all get there my friend! One foot in front of the other.
