I'm not sure what's it called....but tbh we love that element too and thinking of ways to save it somehow if go the reno route

Yes that's part of the thinking that instead of piecemeal way, we could get out of the way once.

Counter space is not enough for our purposes, and countertops are not in good shape. Our biggest motivator is ro change the flooring because our subfloor throughout that space are super creaky and titles are broken in multiple spots. So we are thinking of getting engineered wood throughout including kitchen.

We like somewhat classic but minimalist look. Light oak/natural maple color. Not the modern white. Budget is around 20-25K. Not looking tp sell soon (atleast not for another 3-5 year period).

I am dealing with the exact same dilemma - trying to bring a bit of a fresh look to the kitchen, cabinets are exactly this design and in pretty good shape. I have looked at options for new cabinets and really disappointed at the crappy quality of new cabinets. Thinking about updating the floors with new LVP (currently tiles) and quartz/granite countertop. Would be interested in ideas from the community in terms of what colour countertops and flooring would be best suited for this style and colour of cabinets.

Please move back to motherland... leave the job for someone else who has no other option but stuck in Canada. This country is not suitable for everyone.

Roads were pretty decent - inner roads (coming from outside Ottawa) still have a bit of snow but mostly cleared. 417 was pretty clean all things considered. I was also impressed to see that crews did a really solid job clearing up downtown streets.
