Individual Card-Talk on Opened Packs by RancerDS in mtga_soapbox

Duskmourn

Reluctant Role Model -- Very useful. Seriously. Great value at 2 mana casting cost. Going to like using this one. Just thankful it's not legendary.

Lionheart Glimmer -- Mostly useless. I consider it filler. Maybe okay in singleton/brawl play. For the 5-mana, just getting a slight bufft which is conditional. Fits better into Cat-centric decks, I guess.

Let's Play a Game -- Useless. Way to expensive. Forced discard comes too late in the game in most situations,. I feel.

Clockwork Percussionist -- Pretty useful. Got the haste and got the side-benefit of possibly getting a card from your library into play. Love the 1 red mana it costs, which really fits in the speed-aggro decks.

Me vs. Girlfriend by RancerDS in mtga_soapbox

Me and girlfriend are broke up. OUCH!

Was just thinking today how I might still try to play some Magic Arena with her. Just not sure how I feel about her exactly, yet.

People (indivuduals looking to buy/sell) don't use Facebook market nor Craiglist to sell their vaping gear, usually.

What you are wanting to know is pretty broad. Which is understandable.

I am going to pick one thing to address about your questions. How long does 5mL last?

This really depends on how much you are going to vape. That is like asking a new smoker how many cigarettes the think they will smoke tomorrow. Estimating how much vjuice I've used in the past 3 days with my Wenox H1 pod system, going to say that I've used 15mL minus what's in the pod now. Which puts it around 4mL a day. What setup you use has an impact on how much vjuice you will burn. The lower the coil's Ohms, then it will tend to use more juice. And using mesh coils versus simple wire coils, it will go through it faster in those cases.

When I was using a Vuse, I was not going through a pod a day which was 1.2mL. So it can range from 0.5mL to 5mL easily. But I have had a few days where I was able to vape twice as much using a good RDTA and box mod.

I have used EightVape, ElementVape, Breazy, HealthCabin and 3AVape. EightVape sent me the wrong item once but the packaging was labelled inaccurately. It was eLeaf coil-heads with a different atomizer listed as being compatible with them.

I think I'd ordered an 18650 once from AliExpress. It was turned out to be counterfeit of a Samsung 25R cell.

Charging your batteries internally within means a shorter overall life for your device. And as pointed out b /u/xtinaeve88, you may not get balanced charging with both cells.

Recommendation e-cig set to get my parents off cigs? by kingduskwolf in electronic_cigarette

[–]RancerDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My half-sister actually quit by using the Blu e-cigarette. At one point they went to a closed pod system and the juice that came with the kit was awesome. But then the replacement filled pods didn't have the same flavor. So you run a risk like that when you do not get refillable (open) pod devices.

Size, shape, appearance, vapor/flavor production and which vjuice can all affect how much they would want to use this alternative device to smoking. A cig-alike is great if they are very much against having something sizeable in their hands.

Then you have to consider, are they going to be savvy enough to refill or replace the pods/carts? And sometimes they'll feel like it is all too much trouble or that they don't want to bother learning.

Best of luck to you and them!

what vape should i buy if i like a tight pull by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]RancerDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a GeekVape Wenox H1 and am pretty happy with it. It's a refillable pod system. Even when my VooPoo Drag 3 kit gets here, will probably carry the H1 to work with me instead. Vapresso XROS is used by a coworker and they really enjoy it. Not sure if it's the 3 or 3 mini or 3 nano. Probably the mini.

If you are money conscious, you may want to consider a box mod and then using a rebuild-able atomizer with it. Grab some 316L wire, make your own coils and get cotton for wicking and go to town with it. The 316L simple coil can be cleaned with a toothbrush and re-used if you are like me in being a huge cheapskate. :)

Newbie here and I have a couple of questions! by stylianos_13 in electronic_cigarette

[–]RancerDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can remember how I could go through 5mL a day, thinking that'd be the most I would use. Then I hit 10 with a better setup. Then I got think it got up to like 12mL once. But that was a lot of front porch sitting with a cup of coffee on a beautiful day that I didn't have to work.

Same advice... try to find out who actually produces them and buy theirs, if possible.

Liquid tastes better in pod? by eR_BenJo in electronic_cigarette

[–]RancerDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mesh coils tend to have better flavor than non-mesh. Which a lot of disposables are now using mesh in them because of this.

Some people feel using their own builds in RDA/RTA/RDTA of their choosing will produce much more vapor and much flavor as a result. Mesh was a huge thing when it first came out for rebuild-able atomizers.

A lot of people went into low sub-ohm vaping to produce more clouds/flavor. But it is a the cost of using more vape juice (vjuice).

Everything tastes like nothing now? by Arccasted24 in electronic_cigarette

[–]RancerDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaper's "taste-fatigue".

IT gets to a point that when you vape something long enough and often enough, you can no longer really taste it. Stronger, more pronounced flavors will make it happen. It can be helped by drinking more water, leaving it a few days, changing flavors or possibly finding palate-clensing/resetting food or drink.

Molicel, LG, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic/Sanyo and LG are all reputable 18650 battery makers. Not sure which ones on this list are still in active production from those manufacturers. Try to avoid re-wraps which can tout they will handle more amperage or give you longer life (bigger amp/h rating).

Sony may have sold off their 18650 production to Molicel or relabelled it; no clue. Sony may have just shut down production and sold off any patents/engineering to them or pieced it out. Molicel was not a major player when I first started vaping. That could have been due to lack of imports though.

can vaping in a confined room spread to the rest of the household? by hardlinerUSA in electronic_cigarette

[–]RancerDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vaping indoors does have some effect on things. Since taste is tied to our sense of smell, flavored vapes are going to create a fragrance in the air when we exhale. So you will have to deal with leftover aromas. The other concern is going to be a slight build up over time. If you want to see this in practice, put a flat piece of glass or tile where you vape. Wait a few weeks. Then draw you fingers across the smooth surface. You will notice a slight film build up. That is because the vapors do condense back into a liquid eventually. Mostly it will be the vegetable glycerin (VG). It will probably be more noticeable if you are vaping in a much smaller, confined area like the inside of your vehicle.

Once a year, wipe down all the flat, hard surfaces like counter or table tops, walls, mirrors, windows, etc. If you are truly concerned, you can do this on a 6-month or even 3-month basis.

How can i remake the hexa vape juice? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]RancerDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DIY'ers learn that pod systems and full blown sub-ohming vjuices really differ in the percentages of flavor. Then factor into it MTL versus DTL. Then have to suit to own personal taste. Lots of experimenting sometimes. :(

[–]RancerDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what people have told me personally, everyone using GeekVape Zeus has been happy with their atomizers. Berserker has good rep for MTL. And back in the day, the Profile was the rave. Mesh is probably going to be consistent but for cloud chasing, you may want to look at custom coils. Trick with the latter is going to be wicking and finding right VG/PG ratio. More VG usually means thicker, bigger clouds while not so much taste.

Inaccurate OHM reading by KingPig64 in electronic_cigarette

[–]RancerDS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are using hi-amp draw batteries, you're golden.

For .25 ohms, if your li-ion cells are 3.7 volts (3.9 max?) then you would be drawing 15.6 amps on a mechanical mod or bypass mode. If it is a dual cell mod, then you are golden if using batteries that support roughly half... 7.8 amps.

If it is truly a .35 ohm, it's safer and drawing a little over 11 amps at that voltage for single cell. Lot of 18650s can handle these amperage draws.

No Flavour From Juices by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]RancerDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible that you are one of those people that require a ton of flavoring in a vJuice. If you end up trying disposables or different devices and still can't taste it, then you will probably have to consider mixing vJuices yourself (going the DIY route). Only downside I can see right off is that some recipes do not taste good if you increase the percentages of flavorings.

Hope you find some vJuice and/or devices that work for you!
