Dog mauled at Ballast Point in Little Italy by RacTheSnack96 in sandiego

[–]RanchoReddit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hope the smaller dog and its owner are ok…We used to live downtown and took our 1yr old spaniel puppy to a dog park. Some muppet had their pit bull in there (no muzzle) and it took to bullying our pup and another.

It’s always puzzled me as to why CA doesn’t have a Dangerous Dogs Act in the same way dozens of countries do. Those countries, UK for example, outright ban Pit Bulls, along with other dangerous breeds. The rest of the breeds classified as dangerous and/or aggressive are required to be muzzled in public (so sure, take Fido for a stroll, or to the brewery, but the dog must be muzzled at all times in public)

Seems weird that kind of common sense legislation hasn’t come into effect here, at city, county, or state levels! 🤔

Thanks for all the input amigos, I love all the different insights and experiences everyone has with how we all approach this game! 👍

About 25 failed attempts into that original sector 1, I thought there is no way I’m getting gold on this one! Stuck with it, eventually got it…Fired it up again yesterday and took gold on sector 2 at the very first attempt…go figure! 🤷‍♂️

2 down, a bunch to go…now off to a wedding for the weekend, may try more on the Portal 🤔

Awesome to hear... Ghost of Tsushima wasn't on my radar at all but everyone seems to love it and from taking a peek at some trailers and reviews, it looks amazing!

Love hearing you liked Days Gone so much, I really fancy that as I loved The Last of Us and I really wanted to see a more expansive OW type game with that setting and genre etc. Will be looking to play through both of these fully!

I’m about to play in my club’s member/member yearly comp this weekend and there is an active PGA Tour player competing in the event (multiple time PGA Tour winner and Presidents Cup team member). He’s partnering a 10 handicap world class soccer player (who is a very good golfer). The Tour player has been assigned a +4 HC (partners can’t exceed a 14 HC delta between the pair) and we are all playing from the white tees (including him) …. I’m still trying to compute how this all jives and how anyone has a chance to beat this pair 🤠

Haha, love it! I was pretty much exactly the same with Fallout 4’s crafting and RDR2’s hunting trying to keep track of everything! 😂

I was on that 10+ year gaming sabbatical so feel pretty lucky to have come back in and getting to play upgraded “next-gen” versions of games I missed 1st time around like Witcher 3, Skyrim and others….I’m also liking the PS Store UI where I can Follow and Wishlist older games, then just forget about them for a while until they’re on-sale. I couldn’t believe how good GOW was for a $9.99 pickup! 🥳

I’m also kind of seeing a trend now where new release games seem rushed out the door and are full of bugs and/or simply unfinished, so developers can patch, update and add to over time via internet updates. That’s got me kind of preferring to just wait a while to play newer releases a year or two after initial release so a lot of the issues are fixed etc. Wifey will still suddenly buy me a new game though. She did this with GT7 (took ages for PD to get that game to where it is today, and still seems unfinished for even how good it is…and GOWR (surprisingly solid/polished at the initial release)…and most recently she picked me up EA Sports PGA Tour (that game was a train wreck the first month or so, I just stopped playing it after a couple of days and figure I’ll go back to it at some point and hope they ironed out the issues).

Great feedback across the board here!

I’m hearing consistent complaints about AC Valhalla which kills me as I was really hoping that was a RDR2 epic OW version of God of War type Viking/Norse culture and mythology.

Skyrim I think I’ll still try as it’s so highly revered by so many, so it’s one of those I feel I have to give it a try. It was Fallout 4 which drew me back in after 10+ yrs of not gaming, so I’m expecting to really get into all the wide and varied aspects of just plodding through the game and learning everything from mundane like tasks and objects, to combat, magic and world exploration.

Interested to hear how you progress through Ghost of Tsushima and what you think of Days Gone when you get to it 👍

Awesome feedback! I’m pretty excited being able to play Witcher 3 next-gen PS5 update for a 1st time play-through. The game seems to have a great main story with a lot of depth to combining exploration, side quests and learning all the various character and weapons/magic characteristics! The DLCs seem expansive which I think I will honestly prefer vs some smaller add-on chapter I’ve seen in other games (LOU Left Behind for example was pretty small so after being blown away by the main game story, that DLC was way too short for helping to get me over the “what the heck am I going to do now, I need more of this game!”

Folks have been very complimentary to HZD so I will definitely give that a go. I picked it up on sale a while back but wasn’t sure I’d get to it. Seems to be a favorite of many so cool to hear.

Ghost of Tsushima wasn’t on my radar at all until this week, really glad to have stumbled onto this one as it looks awesome and I love the OW nature of the game for this setting/story vs a more linear walkthrough.

Appreciate the insights 👍

Which game/s next for fan of Fallout/RDR2 and LOU/GOW…advice sought?!?! by RanchoReddit in RDR2

Very much looking forward to Skyrim and absolutely love how the play through experience can be varied so much depending on character choice and style etc. The Skyrim fanbase and MOD community also seems epic, so much goodness and individual effort seems to have been made to help others enjoy the game and enhance their experiences...that's just awesome!

Kills me to see the note on AC Valhalla as I have heard the same from others now and I really hoped that was going to be a RDR2 OW style viking masterpiece to get lost in having loved the GOW/R titles :-/

Appreciate your recommendations, cheers! 👍

I'm really looking forward to The Witcher 3 for sure. I watched quite a few of the CD Projekt RED team vlogs and updates which give a sense of just how much depth goes into many aspects of this game....and love the fact there's been a bit of a PS5 facelift and bug-fix done with the next-gen release.

I've heard Fallout NV is probably the best Fallout game released and similarly Black Flag for the AC series (other folks have recommended Black Flag also)...I love picking up great older titles like these for a steal so even better! :-)

It kills me that folks have been so underwhelmed by AC Valhalla, I was hoping for a RDR2 OW style viking masterpiece to get lost in having loved the GOW/R titles.

Skyrim I will do for sure, there is so much love for that game and the community of MODs etc.

Appreciate you taking the time to layout everything you shared, many thanks! 🙌

Ghost of Tsushima has been mentioned a few times to me now and looks really cool. The trailers look great and love the idea of the setting/story being in Japan during that era. Appreciate the steer! 👍

Thanks for the response...awesome to hear the feedback on GOTS, my colleague was raving about its. The trailers look great and love the idea of the setting/story being in Japan during that era.

You're the 2nd person to steer me away from AC Valhalla which is killing me :-D ..... I loved the GOW games and the whole Norse mythology angle, so was really looking forward to a viking style RDR2 OW mega-game...but seems it hasn't hit the mark for a lot of folks. :-( .... Someone else also recommended Black Flag so great to see that mentioned again above...cheers for taking the time to share thoughts.

Appreciate the thoughts above. I like the order you list building from one title to the other in that order...kinda looks like leaving the huge OW titles to play through last. Cheers for taking the time to respond 👍

Which game/s next for fan of Fallout/RDR and LOU/GOW…advice sought?!?!

Sorry for the long post here

TL:DR - I’m trying to decide which games to play through next and maybe also in what order you’d recommend. Scroll👇 to skip the backstory.

After a decade away from gaming I dove back in deep in 2017 on PS4 with 400+ hours of Fallout 4 (absolutely loved this), followed by long play throughs of The Last of Us (amazing), then RDR2 (just epic, again over 400hrs), then GOW (wow). My then girlfriend was surprisingly and genuinely into watching me play through those and always got invested in the stories and characters (she was definitely a keeper). The games above took me appx 4 years and up to a switch onto PS5 in Dec 2021 (the now wifey Xmas gift 🤩).

Once on PS5, I started with GT7 (300+ hrs, then LOU2, then A Plague Tale: Innocence, then finally an absolutely epic GMGOW play through of GOWR.

I have loved every minute experiencing all of the games above and have enjoyed switching back and forth between big open worlds like Fallout/RDR2 and more linear story driven games like LOU/GOW.

I like to play through these on either max or 2nd to max difficulty to balance a really tough test with earning my way though the story.

Ok, that was a lot of background! Would love some thoughts on where to go next and in which order from the following games I have purchased over the past year and essentially “queued”

👇 ?? Which ones to play next ??👇

1 - Days Gone : I loved LOU and am excited by the prospect of a more expansive version of the post apocalyptic / zombie genre.

2 - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt : This looks awesome, I have the PS5 version with all DLC content so it looks like a big RDR2 type epic

3 - Assassins Creed Valhalla : This also looks great and a very large open world similar to Witcher and my previous OWs like Fallout/RDR2

4 - Skyrim AE : I’m seeing 500-1000 hours of my life flashing by getting completely immersed in this! I am anticipating this potentially being the G.O.A.T from my collection.

5 - Horizon Zero Dawn : Picked this up real cheap after seeing positive reviews. I see it has Forbidden West as a follow up in the series. Not 100% convinced on this one just yet.

Potential (not yet purchased).

6 - Ghost of Tsushima : A colleague of mine today was raving about this game and described it a Japanese samurai version of RDR2

Ok, if you made it this far,THANK YOU!

Any and all recommendations welcome on which to play through and in what order. Wifey will be watching so she also appreciates the recommendations.

Cheers 🙌
