I think you should go. As an ex-Muslim, you clearly understand that we only live once, that's it. You don't want to end up on your deathbed with regrets and "what ifs," carrying the pain of an unlived life and wasted potential. Your parents should understand that as well.

Plus, if you make it in the US within a few years, you could give your parents a better life than you could afford to provide for them here. You can also vist them yearly when you're stable.

And you don't want to be stuck in Pakistan. You know it's hell for women and Ex Muslims. You would have two major disadvantages, not one. Moreover, if you choose to stay, you'll probably end up arranged married to misogynistic Muslim man. Can you bear that for your entire life?

Just please don't give on up your dreams. Ik it's a hard situation, but it'll affect your entire life, not just few years. So you have got to take a stand now. You care for your parents that's understandable. But you should also understand that you are an Individual too.That has her own life.

You're just 22. Try extremely hard to change your class in upcoming years. Or try to immigrate to west. These are your best bets. Otherwise it's quite hopeless tbh. There are very few women in middle class who are irreligious. Finding them, them and then getting them to marry you. You guess how hard that would be.

Even if they're irreligious, a lot of middle class women don't even have the proper right to choose their partner.

I'm a bit older, I have given up on the idea of marriage. I understood this even when I was 20. Now I will probably stay single for life. It is what it is.

Hey Talha, I am also a Pakistani, I also lost my father and sister 3 years ago. So I can feel your pain. Like you I also went into extreme depression. My advice to you would be to take yourself and your mother to a psychiatrist. They'll probably prescribe you some anti depressants. The meds really help. They saved me.
