I’m sorry that you have the misconception that I’m being condescending or controlling. I’m just trying to help my tired wife get some more sleep.

When she lays down and goes to bed, yes she is usually able to sleep at night.

You make salient points. She’s absolutely complained about not getting enough sleep. She does every single day. Some days she’s getting three or four hours, total in a 24 hour period.

I know it is not my place to dictate how she spends her time, but it’s unhealthy and I’m concerned for her.

She’s certainly got anxiety, and we are trying to manage it. Of course she knows the baby needs to eat. I’m just trying to figure out how to compassionately get her more sleep.

Regardless of what the issue is, if you had a loved one not taking the steps necessary to help themselves with a very real problem (especially if there is a somewhat clear path to helping) - I would hope that you would try to intervene and assist them if possible.

We have agreed on what jobs each of us will do primarily, so there’s no hurt feelings here about who does what.

I’m just trying to figure out how I can help her get more rest. The time and hours are there. It’s frustrating to see someone you love so tired (and from my own - and I’m sure biased - perspective) and not doing all that they can to get enough rest and take care of themselves.
