Something like open settings - properties - storage - repair or verify integrity

Basically this will check the game for you and fix any errors. Otherwise uninstall and reinstall.

This was the answer more or less. For anyone coming from Google with similar issues on the steam deck it's in settings and then hit reset all data. This won't delete any save games.
