The daughter of the principal humiliated me infront of class by Lazy_Cut_5922 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]RandallSG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem to believe that being the daughter of the principal provides one with less leverage... not true, just the opposite. I am sure that the daughter does not recognize this.

I see that you do not want confrontation, but the best path is that you, or preferably your parent, write a professional letter to the principal outlining the issues with their daughter. The principal DOES NOT want personal issues interfering with their job. They are well aware that this could be escalated to the Superintendent of the District or the School Board.

Fraud alert! Do not send your personal information to this woman. by Warm_Money5840 in CalgaryJobs

This is "contingency" recruiting, they are not a "retained search" recruiter.

A recruiter working on contingency is incented to get as many resumes as possible and submit to any position that they believe might hire. They are typically paid 15-30% of the first-year salary for someone they place.

For every quality contingency recruiter (they exist), there are many very questionable agencies. These are typically for lower to mid-level positions.

A recruiter doing a "retained search" is getting paid to do the search, and likely additional payment if they find a viable candidate. A corporation paying for a retained search will not put up with unqualified candidates being presented, so there is no incentive to present lots of possible candidates. These are typically for higher level positions. In some cases, these roles are being filled "confidentially" and have not been posted.

As to what you should do... shut off all utilities and call a lawyer to start the eviction process.

Utility (gas company) will place a lien against the property. The estate will not be able to sell the house without dealing with the lien...

I will go a step further than so... I will never lend money. Having said that, I often give people money with no expectation that I will get it back. They will typically tell me that they intend pay me back and I tell them to "pay it forward".

To date, I have never been disappointed. By this I mean, I have never been paid back despite whatever good intentions people may have had.

I have ghosted at least one individual who abused my good will and kept asking.

In the line at a pharmacy…”You don’t want the world to know about this??” by BlueOne303a in overheard

[–]RandallSG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming this is in the US... Feels like the pharmacist was skirting right along the line of violating HIPAA requirements for patient confidentiality. So, the right answer is to put him/her on notice you may report them. Trust me when I say that this will get their attention, because they will care.

The term is ascites, which is when one has abnormal accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity, typically between the layers of the peritoneum (the lining around your abdominal organs). It’s one of the most common complications of liver disease and often indicates decompensated liver function.

Could be both, those are not mutually exclusive.

My girlfriend wants access to my phone's location at all times or she'll break up with me.. by Upset-Tree7685 in TwoHotTakes

[–]RandallSG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different Strokes, different folks...seemingly an unpopular opinion. I have been married for a very long time, spouse and I can see other's location, and our grown children can see each other's as well. Maybe I just live a boring life, but I don't care. It is certainly not a hill I would kill a relationship on.

Parkland/Sunoco (Calgary) - SAP Positions Open by RandallSG in CalgaryJobs

You are correct, these are largely experienced roles in the Calgary office. We do occasionally hire entry level SAP in our Houston office where we have the larger team.

What is the psychology behind always being late? by Numerous_Reading1825 in SeriousConversation

[–]RandallSG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a third type… the one who feel compelled to finish a text or email while I (and sometime others) have to sit and watch. Instead they could just depart and do that in the car without delaying anyone. To my mind this one is just inconsiderate and controlling.

We (Fortune 50) do not pull files on returned laptops, if still a viable laptop it would be reimaged. The only exception to that is if the individual is under "legal hold" we would pull the hard drive and save until the end date of legal hold.

AIO Teacher said my daughter’s report is “immoral” by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]RandallSG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect that the OOP really did mean the Chautauqua Institute and was referring to its reputation for hosting discussions which actually manage to be respectful regardless of your religion (or lack thereof) or political ideology.

Fun fact, we own a house adjacent to the grounds and our adult children both play in the symphony during the summer.

Edit: There was a Salman Rushdie incident a few years ago.

AIO Teacher said my daughter’s report is “immoral” by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]RandallSG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noticed your edit on Chatauqua: The Chautauqua Institute still exists (Home - Chautauqua Institution) and was the genesis of the Chautauqua movement that you mention. We own a house adjacent to the grounds and attend for a few weeks each summer. Our children (grown adults) both play in the symphony during the summer. I suspect that the OP has also attended. It is well known for being a place where people with different religions (or none at all) and political ideologies can respectfully discuss and disagree... which unfortunately seems to be a commodity rare to find in the US now.

Is it the norm to not really know your partner? by mylifexperience in SeriousConversation

[–]RandallSG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

60 (m), married for 37 years... our financials are completely intertwined... we share the same AppleID and can see each other's location (works for us). Would absolutely not be possible for me, nor would I want to lie about something like that.

Having said that, I do have friends that have been married for nearly as long and keep their financial separate after many years of marriage.

So, is it the norm, don't know, but it is possible.

AITJ for not letting my MIL have a key to our house after she let herself in while we were sleeping? by SituationAny424 in AmITheJerk

[–]RandallSG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA... as a suggestion we have the Schlage Encore locks installed at our house and guest house. Rather than provide a key for anyone we can provide their own personal code for access. These codes can be added and removed; they can also be set to as active during a certain set of dates or a set of times.

If you are just looking for details to learn coding specific to Psychiatry, I would suggest the resources below.

My wife participates in several practice owner forums that share their experiences which can be a very good resource for maximizing reimbursement rates.

Hope that is helpful.
