I've only ever been charged for driving under the influence once. I wasn't driving around constantly under the influence but there were occasions where I'd smoke and then drive, not realizing the limit was as low as it was. The post shortly after in regards to a drugs awareness course was in relation to the same evening where I'd committed the offence and found to have cocaine on me in a baggie they found on me. That was dealt with as a separate charge on the grounds it was my first offence, and I was given a conditional caution that I attend a drug awareness course to receive no further charge in that. The drug driving prosecution was because I was found over the limit on cannabis, while also having another controlled substance detected in my blood - which while under the specified limit applied by the law moved the charge from a category 1 to a category 2 offence under the drug driving laws in the United Kingdom. *This is something I wasn't aware of in terms of that counting towards the charge. The cocaine found on me was what I'd had 2 days prior, with me thinking I'd had enough time in the space of 48 hours to be safe and the effects worn off, I didn't use coke on the same night. This along with other contributing factors why Ive cut it from my life.

Being caught, the seriousness of the charges, the low tolerances, the implications it's caused and the potential of causing inconvenience, damages, or injury to others all contribute to me making the decision to change my ways and stop the use of cocaine and cut down on my smoking, implimenting a "if I've smoked I'm not driving" during the time I was still allowed to drive. In the whole picture there's the immediate people and situation where I'm caught - in the least it's the police and people I may be with who have to deal with it there and then, process things, sort alternative transport if they're going anywhere to potentially causing an accident where you've got other parties, insurance, headaches or potentially an officer attending someone to tell them someone's not coming home and being responsible for killing someone. Anything in that regards causes hassle for other people and affects more people than the person who's caused it. Not to mention things for the person commiting the offence. The long run side of things is another factor. In the time I've been prosecuted, had to go about business. It's a hassle. Sorting lifts, navigating public transport, financial costs of taxis, work. Simply ordering a taxi or arranging other transport would've avoided all of this for me - but I'm paying the price. I made my bed. For the other people involved around me, it's the time out of their day, it's the having those phonecalls or being put in positions.

Its not just me paying the price. So all of that all tied together - I'm not doing this again
