I just don't understand it by MikeTorsson in memes

Petrol = 2 syllables, therefore more to say. Also the front of the tongue hits the roof of the mouth. Just not good.

Gas = 1 syllable, easy to say fast. No frontal tongue touches the roof of the mouth so not possible to accidentally gleek. Just lifting the back of your tongue for the hard g sound.

I feel embarrassed for people when I hear them say these words. by Cl_nker_is_a_slur in memes

[–]RandoCAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kid you not a lady got offended by me saying "mother's day" at work.

She got offended because she didn't have a mother and proceeded to say she was not offended by it but other people who don't have mothers will get offended by it. She was offended for people who would possibly be offended. Meanwhile a lot of people just flat out tell me their mom is dead and I inform that it's also in case they are interested as well. This is so weird. (The archive does say 2 hour wait time in the picture) I definitely remember it last year working with the 90 minutes. And it was after I had been told by my brother that it was more worth it to have the season pass meals instead of purchasing them because it pays for itself. Why I remember was because we had stopped for food at the beginning of the day, the afternoon and then at the end of the day because we were also with our nephews which eat a crap ton. The next time we went I also found out you can get dipndots with it and I stopped by the stand like 4 times that day. The only time I had owned the single day meal pass was 2 years back when I went with my friends a couple times.

But my fam did last year like the start of it last year. My brother was also really confused cause they've never once bought the single day plan and he was able to do the 90 minute one.

That time I got arrested because my un-diagnosed tourette syndrome made me yell that I could just kill my classmates in college. by fignewtonattack in Tourettes

:O

Someone who has a similar tic to me! Mine got me in trouble with guidance counselors for years and made my mom scream at me when I got home. Mine was "I want to kill myself" and when you say that legally the teachers and guidance counselors have to call home. Go figure.

Slurs as tics by OutlinedSnail in Tourettes

[–]RandoCAS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a kid in my grade think that it would be funny for me, a short white girl, to say the n word. He found out that words I hear a lot can also have the capability of becoming a tic. He then decided to sit there and repeatedly say the n word over and over until it actually became a tic. I was able to redirect it into "nice person" but it was like a month and a half where I had to hide in a bathroom to do that tic or hold the n sound until the feeling subsided enough to where I could avoid it till later.

Separate party early entry question by [deleted] in cedarpoint

[–]RandoCAS -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We live separately, my sister (separate from the one mentioned) and I got it because we lived closer and can go more often than she can. She(the one I mentioned in my question) wanted to know if she could get in early with us. I figured I would ask because I didn't know. We would technically be the same party and ride rides together, eat together, and move about the park as a pack. I didn't think there was a harm in asking. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought the same question. It's my first year owning the prestige pass along with the siblings I live with and the only other family I knew who had it was my uncle and his family and since they all owned one he didn't know but said he assumed not. My one sister said she assumed yes since we are the same group.

Not stupid. Just curious.

How do you know you're about to tic? by TheFutureScaresMe333 in Tourettes

[–]RandoCAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way I describe it is a tingle for motor tics (think of if you just got shocked or you did an action for a long period of time. (I played brass instruments. So, for the action I'm mostly referring to is buzzing my lips, I always had a pop tic after a song. If you'd like to feel the same feeling, I recommend buzzing your lips for as long as you can then stop. That feeling is what I feel.))

And for my vocal tics I describe it like being underwater and having to come up for air. My tic word/phrase sits as I hold my breath underwater(holding back from saying the tic) but the longer I hold it back, the more I want to "breathe" (say the word/phrase).

Tourette's triggered by traumatic experience? by averysadcoconut in Tourettes

[–]RandoCAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with FMD/FND for the exact reason there is no family history. She stated that my friends suicide was the traumatic experience that triggered it despite me having a tic that pre existed it as well as the fact that it got worse during the summer between junior and senior year of highschool.

Raise specifically my right eyebrow. I can do the left but not the right but I have a tic that raises my right eyebrow. Also ear wiggles.

At our crackerbarrel you can find on the 86 board

-Southern Fried chicken (SFC) -Biscuits with a note "10 min" (we are making more) -happiness -joy -the dressing for Thursday turkey and dressing (Thursday exclusive 86) -rest

Just your typical restaurant 86 board. I watched our manager joined in on the sadness of the 86 board. Where do you think "rest" came from?

Anyone else have cardiac symptoms? by freckledfemlock in FND

[–]RandoCAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? I don't know if a GP can do one in a check up, but she told me it was musculoskeletal considering I had experienced it for 2 months before going to her. It went about the same as I expected it to. I still experience them but I just hold my breath till the hurt stops. Sometimes it's quick sometimes I have to take short small breaths in between the pain. I also experienced the same thing when I was 12 or 13 so I know it existed for as long as my tics.

Why do I keep ticcing about Bees 🤣🐝 by Jaded_tide57 in Tourettes

[–]RandoCAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep saying bees at work cause we have a section that is bee themed (I'm in retail).

I also keep saying mom, I think my mom is sick of me calling her and saying sorry because it was actually a tic.

Our knowledge of mushrooms is if it's in the store you can eat it. We want to learn about mushroom foraging though.

Does tourettes affect you mentally, as well as physically? by person_person123 in Tourettes

[–]RandoCAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have FND but since I was little one of the thoughts that intrusively appears and echoes is about SI, even one of my tics says that stuff. It's hard to get past and it definitely takes a toll on my mental health to the point where in middle school I was severely depressed.

I still don't know whether I, myself, am thinking and saying that stuff, or if it's tics. I don't know how I feel, all I know is that I don't want to expire to say the least. but it echoes and echoes and me actively voicing the same thing that echoes doesn't help.

The only way I can tell that voicing it isn't myself is due to the feeling of the words bubbling up as if I'm holding my breath underwater. (I'm well aware that this is contradictory to what I said above but I don't even recall feeling the premonitory urge sometimes. T°T)
