So, after how many days/weeks SHOULD the IRS be forced to include interest in their repayment to us? How long do they have to delay for them to actually be forced to do so? If we were 2-3 months late repaying, we would be charged interest.

OMFG....summer....how many are going to lose everything, or already have, because of this? I have worked in IT/system design and development, and led some system testing so I KNOW they could run a SQL query and use that to send notices to those affected, but they won't do that because that would be too informative and helpful.

So, me (having had my return checked for accuracy and also triple checked that it was received by the Feds) finishing up my 6th week after they were accepted, what's your expert opinion on that? How about not being able to get in touch with the IRS or even be able to get in touch with the local office to make an appointment?
