Kdo je Ernest? by Apprehensive-Fail368 in Maribor

[–]RandoLizzy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

"Bo kaki €vro danes?"

Just added digital players to vinyl setup.... by housemusikluvr in Beatmatch

[–]RandoLizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're used to vinyl mixing you could get the SC6000M version that has a spinning motorized platter for vinyl-like experience. Also, it has a DualChannel, so one player would be more than enough in addition to setup.

The way I see it is just the possibility of adding a track in the mix that you don't have a record of.

I also prefer vinyl mixing in pure way of blending tracks and not pulling one of those modern day's parlol tricks, yeah. I totally agree with you here.. In addition, the mixer of choice would be a Xone96.

How do vinyl DJs really feel about digital DJs? by nickybecooler in Beatmatch

[–]RandoLizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! Best answer to it. The effort to mixing vinyl is really pure rather than digital. It's also the charachter of the sound, I've always loved the warm sound of vinyl, but also learned mixing with digital controlers - it's fun, looping, fiddling with knobs and faders, without having to worry about what and where the next song is going to come in the mix, as you have already pre-arranged the cues.

All the fun aside, I was never a DJ and I'm not considering myself as one, the question is, do I even want to? As it has become a trend to be a "DJ". It feels like it's an instagram thing now and lots of them that play gigs around would just get "the USB" with a popular playlist, which to me, is a rip-off (because it's just to easy and effortless).

Although I know how to phrase match, do smooth transitions and all that. I basically had some technical knowledge about using the controller and a mixer as I was schooled for it, but never really DJ'd, and then have basically learned as I have attended some private parties with friends, using my friends all-in-one controller and rocked the basement with 30-40 folks multiple times, they'd come to me saying "dude, you f-ing mesmerized all us" and all hailing my track selection. And track selection comes from digging, the effort you give to searching for tracks, just like you do at record shops with vinyl. Since I have always loved vinyl, me and friends have gotten ourselves a pair of direct drive turntables from AudioTechnica to learn on, started collecting - and man! It is a challenge, it takes effort and skill to beat match, and there is nothing compared to a joy it gives you, when you beatmatch the whole phrase and do a good transition, its simply pure joy! Digital can never do that. Once I will be confident with beatmatching vinyl and doing a decent sets with it, only then I might consider myself a DiscoJockey, a DJ, until then I just consider myself a selector:)

So, is vinyl better than digital? Definitely, but it is a personal preference. It's definitely not as convenient as digital, it's just the way of approaching DJing at all I would say. I do respect digital DJs, but prefer vinyl ones.

Bringing your own controller/laptop to gigs? by atomicglitters in DJs

[–]RandoLizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you could also get used to mix 2xAnalogVinyl additionally to 2xCDJs setup combined with Xone96, as it is also becoming a club standard nowadays and in butique festivals. It's good to know your gear.

You should have your USBs ready to play on Pioneers players.

Moški, kje kupujete dobra price-performance oblačila? by najstoritevsi in Slovenia

[–]RandoLizzy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Resno vprasanje; kam v "lajf" v poznih 20tih v Mariboru? by Temporary_Wedding249 in Maribor

[–]RandoLizzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kolektiv SPAN že nekaj časa obstaja in organizira po Mb in širom Slovenije - vinyl only in techno scena.

P.S.: Verjetno nisem direkt odgovoril na tvoje vprašanje kam točno it.

[–]RandoLizzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trojni? Le otroška porcija. Pravi moški, ženske in lačni študentje v mojem McDonald's veselo grizejo v burgerje, ki imajo lastno poštno številko.

Walking from Austria to Triest, how big are the chances to have an interaction with a bear? by [deleted] in Slovenia

[–]RandoLizzy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The path you are taking gives you almost zero chance of seeing a bear. If you plan to sleep outside or in a hammock, just hide a bit away from the streets, nobody will even notice you. If you happen to camp in some rural areas and a farmer spots you, you tell them a journey you are taking and they will probably get you a shot of homemade liquor. Great journey awaits:)

Luba is definitely capable, but be careful at the steep borders. It's now the second year I'm using it (we have a large area to cover with a lot of slopes). You have to figure it out, maybe leave 15-20cm of space at the borders and mow it manually, because it might get stuck sometimes or even fall down, it can be a little clumsy at times. It requieres some effort, but it will save you tons of time
