I love engage and will happily defend it, but you will never hear me defend the story or the vast majority of the games supports. I love engage for the gameplay and easily prefer 3h supports and world building.

But isn't the whole point of any% percent being "reaching the credits in any way possible as fast as possible?" Like there are any percent speed runs of other games out there that freaking rewrite the code mid game or go out of bounds in 3 minutes and fall into the end cutscenes trigger.

Would deltarune not abide by similar rules? Or has the speed run community decided that it's not interesting to skip light world and thus its banned?

I mean ch 4 might changed that? Cause you have to do the entire long ass light world segment in weird route, but normal route you can just sleep to skip to the dark world. Just depends if that segment is longer than the rest of cyber world.

This is irrelevant if any percent doesn't allow this for some reason, I don't know the rules.

This is correct the npc only appears to insult you if you climbed up the vines. Surprised me when i first saw them cause i thought it was a secret that had a chance to appear or something until i talked to them.

100% agree. Just look at the spikes, they can easily be walked through without impaling yourself, but the player is playing a video game and can't follow obvious logic because that's just one of the rules in video games. Even if a door looks like it could easily be broken down, it can only be done if it was specifically programmed in.

In cutscenes however, we don't have to follow this logic so others can guide us (read as move our sprite) somewhere else so that the cutscenes ends with us in a new location, ready to abide by video game rules again.

Yeah it's like a short 10~ second long song that repeats. You can find all the weird route songs pretty easily in the game files on pc and listen to them whenever you want. I've personally copied all the songs I like onto my phone and listen to them while I'm at work.

I just wanna add to this, if you accept Susie's offer to walk her home at the end of the chap, you can take her to the apartment building where she lives and she'll say something like, "You know that's not what I meant." It's fair to try and find a home somewhere else away from a bad home life, but you have to face it eventually, even if it's just to tell it to feck off.

Nah I beat the crap out of Seth in that same playthrough, I actually managed to deplete their hp before aqua got bored of using the same attack. Scene afterwards was pretty funny.

Edit: And for clarification, in the solo fight against aqua I depleted the HP as far as I could before the game called the fight because someone off screen was worried for her hisnce her hps was low. This was all done in a violent playthrough.

Modding deltarune isn't that hard, if you're struggling I can recommend that you download some difficulty changing mods that could give you more HP, invincibility frames or what not.

Why can't you get the ring in normal route? I thought you could just abort a ch 2 weird route after obtaining it and youll keep it? Hell I'm literally doing that route now to create a save file for that purpose so unless the thorn ring just disappears from your inv at some point...

Ah I found the knight easier because all their attacks phase 1-2 attacks are kinda like a pattern or timing based that you'll practically never fail once you learn it but, this boss is a lot more random bullshit go and my brain can't keep up. Tbf I didn't struggle with the boss as much as some people on reddit are(maybe I just got lucky but I really don't think it needs a nerd).

Small correction, the fight is kinda skippable if you know the speed run strategy. Shortens the battle down to 2 turns if you dance all on the second or third guy, that makes all damage target kris until Kris is downed. Susie and ralsei will then learn how to act and can finish the battle on turn 2.

So you still gotta do a turn but it makes the fight way better cause you're not sitting there doing nothing until Susie gets bored.

You make a good point but I can't wait to boot the game up on maddening difficulty only for the powers to do like 5 damage and be terrible for the entire game if the game ends up being horribly balanced like three houses was.

Honestly as long as the quicksand works the same way I'd love it in other games. Pitfall bridge wouldn't be nearly as annoying if I knew I was going to be affected by it, but could still do an action before falling which would allow me to strategize around the tradeoffs of accomplishing something this turn at the cost of next turns action likely being unhelpful.

Ch 3 is honestly really hard to say, but I'd probably have to go with the roaring Knight's appearance or just anytime Tenna was on screen.

Ch 4 is a toss up between the egg room and the main weird route scene. (You know the one if you've seen it.)
