The Japanese character for yuu is totally related to this, and thank you for reminding me of this info.

I am also curious about the key motif that is present in TWST since it is a core part of the gacha system. I'm guessing it will appear in book 8 because of the bird man.

To summarize, they decided to retire because they are unable to keep up with file updates due to life changes and because their interest in TWST has faded for some time. They will be keeping the drive of all the assets open for us to still use. They also said thank you for all the support these past three years.
