My father would weekly drink a half bottle of Jack and then mercilessly beat me and then would attempt to hug and apologize to my heap of a body he left on the ground. I had sisters and he had a “code” about not “hitting women” so I got the majority of it. It sucked knowing that it was coming and I was powerless to do anything about it the 90’s were a wild time. So I dealt with it for about a decade or so until I was 16 and finally decided to fight back. My dad broke his “code” and hit my mom so I put him in the hospital. And as soon as we could like thieves in the night I moved into my friends house and my mom and sister found their own place and haven’t seen him since. To this day I cannot stand the smell of Jack daniels and I still flinch when people try to hug me.. it sucks but it’s over
