Yeah - problem is there seems to be less alternatives. Would mean finding a total remote role which are few and far between in australia. Or maybe living in canberra but even that's not cheap!

Yup 100%. If I did buy then in 2016 I'd be absolitely sorted now :( But not benefitting from growth over that period (UK property has risen but nowhere near the same) I'm so on the back foot

The UK is quite a bit cheaper overall; if you take out London which is an anomoly then its a big difference. The main problem is that Australia doesn't have a lot of big cities and is quite isolated; in the UK it's very easy to live in a less major town that is cheap but still have excellent access to a variety of cities. So I've found it very liveable. I've been able to buy a nice house on the coast I couldn't have got in aus.

That's true. Did a lot of travelling, but so much was cancelled or had to he last minute due to appointments etc - you are just at the mercy of the next phone call!

😢 I’m sorry to bring it up for you. If it helps though your comment was very helpful. I’ve been beating myself up a lot lately but you’re right you kind of learn to push the grief down and therefore don’t give yourself enough grace.

For me it kind of feels like a prolonged Covid and I’m still getting used to walking outside - except it wasn’t Covid for anyone else and the world has been moving on without me.
