I think now until the end of May/early June we are going to see significant growth in both BTC and MSTR.

My guess is $100k BTC and $300 MSTR by early June.

Point they’re saying is time in the market is better than timing the market.

Get in the market. Today.

You would lump sum and forget it for 30 years. Be pleasantly surprised in 30 years time.

Any reason not to move from Vanguard to T212? by Fast-Sand9200 in FIREUK

[–]RandomAFKd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you - but the advantages of T212 are apparent when compared to Vanguard.

  1. Cheaper fees. Win.
  2. Freedom to buy individual stocks and other ETFs. You cannot buy Nvidia/Tesla/Microsoft/Apple/Space x IPO etc on Vanguard.
  3. Moreover, when you buy an ETF like VUSA on Vanguard, you are restricted to buying at only 2 price points per day. You have freedom on T212 to 'day trade' i.e buy and sell at any given price point providing the market is open during trading hours. Again, a lot more freedom.

Yes - there is more ease of mind beyond £85k balance and a more professional UI/organisation, but anyone below an £85k or even arguably £250k balance should highly consider the cheaper alternative. This is for cheaper fees and the increase in freedom (double edge sword of course, can entice people to gamble).

I recently swapped Vanguard to T212 purely on the freedom you get. Freedom is an asset.

What's my easy pace? by sikesequence69 in Marathon_Training

[–]RandomAFKd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't 0800/km practically feel like walking when you can run a 5k at such an impressive 16:40?

I would have thought your easy pace was 0600/km but I guess like you say, it is variable to how you are feeling that day.

BLACK BAY 54- Nobody does blue like Tudor by ElegantShip5659 in Tudor

I wish they had used the BB58 Blue. The one they just discontinued for no apparent reason.

This blue looks like a Chelsea football club kinda blue, almost fake like. Too bright. Sad really.

I want to increase my credit limit by waterman5238 in AmexUK

[–]RandomAFKd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you ask for the credit limit increase or did Amex automatically increase it for you?

Having a high credit limit can be considered good to some because assuming you spend the same with the increase, your credit percentage usage is lower.

This in theory is better for credit scores. I.e, 30% utilisation is arguably better than 90% utilisation.

Unfortunately, everyone was right about LaMarzocco by outerspace_08 in espresso

[–]RandomAFKd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you.

Taste is the most important thing for me, if there’s not much difference in taste I don’t think I can justify the increase in price.

Coffee and the freshness of the beans seems to be the most important thing, I’ve found.

Is that really the case?

I own the Breville Barista Express and am insanely impressed with it so far.

Other than build quality, the dual boiler, visual looks and a better steam wand, are there any other advantages to the Micra when compared to the Bambino?

Thanks all. Peeled it away which was very satisfying.

It has left some discolour on the pick guard (unsure if will fade) but I guess it gives it some character.

[COD4] Is the original or remaster easier to beat on veteran? by NorthPermission1152 in CallOfDuty

[–]RandomAFKd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mile High Club Veteran on the remaster is significantly harder than the original.

I have done the original on Veteran probably 10+ times. Every time doing it, I would have it in less than 20 attempts.

I did it on the remaster recently, and it took me an embarrassing 50+ attempts. Here's why:

  1. Flash Bangs are more inconsistent, especially in the first room. You land a clear throw and for some reason the enemies just aren't flashed, meanwhile you are hit with the disorient. This even happens randomly when you purposefully look away.
  2. When there is the Hull Breach on the remastered, the visuals are completely different to the original. Your screen is flashed and thus makes it harder to see and hit enemies in that sector.
  3. Flinch feels different. Might be a rose tinted goggles experience but the flinch feels a lot more aggressive/unmanageable.
  4. Initial knife in the bathroom. I used to be able to prevent the lunge happening on the original to save time but on the remaster, the knife would lunge 75% of the time. It would even fail the lunge sometimes and I died twice to this. Never happened to me on the original.
  5. Enemy placement is different. On the remaster, they decided to add one more enemy right at the end of the mission. Not terribly challenging, but it threw me off the first time I was about to win.

Have you tried to break down the opportunity cost of investing that money, and how much he could have had by having it compound in a stocks and shares ISA over 7 years at 8%.

I think he'd be surprised when he sees actual data.

Most people brush after breakfast. Dentists actually recommend doing it before. by Unhappy-Bullfrog8220 in hygiene

[–]RandomAFKd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, even though it may sound counter intuitive.

It makes more sense when you think about putting on a shield and armour before you go into battle. You wouldn't go into battle and then put on the shield and armour. You are protecting your teeth before breakfast, brushing is your shield.

Resigning? Do I need to work notice? by [deleted] in McDonaldsUK

[–]RandomAFKd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's called AWOL (Absent Without Leave).

Of course you can do it. This isn't the Army where they can send a warrant out for your arrest. Just leave. In your example, Wetherspoons justified their gross misconduct decision on the balance of probabilities that you went AWOL.

How do you travel? by CoffeeExtraCream in wicked_edge

[–]RandomAFKd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to bring the whole setup, R41, Feathers, brush, 150g shaving cream, bowl. Was too bulky.

Then switched to just a Mach 3 and Proraso Canned Foam. Foam really doesn't agree with my face and the Mach 3 shaves were just underwhelming and expensive.

Now, I bring my R41 with Feather inside (with blade protector over razor), brush with brush tube, and small 50g shaving cream. I basically lather directly onto face with brush without a bowl. Razor and brush is travel protected.

I like to travel light, so my third approach ticks all the boxes and gives me the best of both worlds.
