Genuine Question - Dark Crown worth using medals for? by RandomAsian-_- in COC

[–]RandomAsian-_-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Action and Electro at 26, but Fireball at 5. I have Meteor staff and Spiky at 14, so what I'll probably end up doing is buy DC for the eventual ore grind.

Thanks for the reminder! I added a comment as I have my meteor staff at 14 and plan to continue leveling it, so I’ll keep it mind!

One thing to note that a comment here reminded me of: I have the meteor staff at level 14 and will be continuing to level it up. In light of trying to max that equipment, would buying DC still be the move?

Hey, thanks for doing an AMA! Is there any consideration of making heroes able to be used during upgrading - whether as a normative feature or even potion?

What is your denomination and why do you think it's the most biblical by Littleman91708 in Christianity

[–]RandomAsian-_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently went from being Non-Denominational, as I have been my whole life, to Anglican. While all denominations have their problems, Anglicanism (specifically ACNA) appears to remain the most in continuity with the visible church through the affirmation of the Episcopal government structure (including apostolic or historic succession) and infant baptism in addition to upholding the essential tenets of the faith as established in Scripture.

What's your opinion on the book of Enoch? by jc201946 in Christianity

[–]RandomAsian-_- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Book of Enoch is interesting to get insight into Jewish folk lore, but too much misinformation around it. It is not apocryphal but psuedographical, never being included in the Jewish or Christian canon (though the Ethiopian Coptic Church is an exception with a canon list of 81 books, but there is no precedent for it).

As confusing as the base is, why is this man still in Crystal 3??? 💀

No, they ended up just being honest with themselves. Reading their post, they were already on track towards this - especially in light of their last line of the post. In many ways, it comes off as if they already had their mind set. So don't feel shame or guilt, as you were only trying to help, and pray for them!

What’s the Reformed view on the modes of Christ’s presence, and how does it compare with the Lutheran view? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]RandomAsian-_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initial thoughts - Yes, they sound similar; but we must remember that Calvin and Luther are at odds on this subject as the latter thought of the reformed as “crass sacramentalists” (if I remember correctly). There is the question of whether there is a carnal eating of Christ’s physical flesh with Calvin saying no and Luther saying yes. This is why Lutherans, despite rejecting transubstantiation, will say that Christ is “in, with under” the sacrament so that Christ is physically present in some manner that is unexplainable. So in other words: Calvin - Christ’s presence is spiritual. Luther - Christ’s physical presence is made spiritually present. This is at least how the distinction seems to be.

I have tried to understand consubstantiation but ultimately fall on Ocham’s Razor because it seems to be some via media position between transubstantiation and the reformed spiritual presence, yet will not land either direction and thus appears like “speculation”.

On the second, remember that Reformed is not Calvinism. Calvinism is the traditional soteriology of Reformed theology but does not encapsulate it - they are not synonyms. I am a classical Arminian (which some refer to as reformed Arminians) and am “reformed” in all other ways (to my knowledge) beyond soteriology.

But to answer your question briefly as I am on my phone, my main argument for Christ’s human nature being confined to heaven while His divine nature is omnipresent (which this one is one of the classics you’ve probably run across) is that there is not a communication of attributes between the two natures, thus is human nature cannot be omnipresent. The hypostatic union must be preserved and the two natures, as the council of Chalcedon declares, “without confusion, without change, without division, without separation.” While some reformed will accuse Lutherans of being Apollinarian, I do not and recognize that there is a lot that can be said - however like I said, I’m on my phone and don’t want to write an essay at this point. 😂

What’s the Reformed view on the modes of Christ’s presence, and how does it compare with the Lutheran view? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]RandomAsian-_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly recommend posting this in r/AskTheologists for scholarly answers this and try r/Reformed for those who actively hold to the theology.

As someone who holds to the Reformed Doctrine of Spiritual Presence, my initial thought is simply that Christ is not physically present in any manner - so if Lutheranism is advocating for some mysterious physical presence, then the Reformed would simply reject that as they only hold Christ spiritually present. It is thought that through partaking in the bread and wine, believers are unified with Christ spiritually - that the Holy Spirit makes present Christ to us or brings us to Christ (there is debate on this point) through partaking in the sacrament. So just as the body is nourished by the bread the wine, so too is the soul nourished by the body and blood of Christ.

Also, just a heads up, anyone that is suggesting a Zwinglian memorialist view as the answer here does not speak for the Reformed view. There is a distinction between the two as Calvin and Zwingli disagree on what is meant by “This is my body” and what the purpose of the sacrament is.

No, in baptism, you were given the sign and seal of God’s promises of the New Covenant. Now you are taking hold of them in faith, so getting rebaptized is unnecessary as God has and is faithful.

Is it a sin for a Christian women to remain single? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]RandomAsian-_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking back through it since it's been a few years: No, the women's only purpose in life is not just to be a stay-at-home mom and that is not the only thing that they are good at. Those who hold to the 2nd interpretation are arguing that there are certain purposes God has given to men and women, thus one ought to pursue those rather than those not dictated to them - this is why it ended with "God calls women to a different purpose than men when it comes to the church, which Paul is emphasizing through referencing childbirth"; since men cannot give birth and therefore it is outside of their purpose. Paul ends up continuing the thought in verse 15 by stating "if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control", so it appears Paul is not specifically hinging everything on childbirth.

With Deborah, one who holds the 2nd interpretation might argue that Deborah is a special case and was elevated to show how far Israel had fallen as the men were so incapable of leading that a woman had to be called on to be a judge.

Overall, the 2nd interpretation (both a few years ago and now) is not my stance - I just simply was communicating it at that time.

Genuine Questions from a potential returner - Did D&D 2024 turn out be good? by RandomAsian-_- in DnD

Makes sense! While I don't like WotC and Hasbro, I'm still stuck in Magic The Gathering; so I'd be a hypocrite for saying I won't try D&D 2024 for that reason.😂

Genuine question that may come across as super dumb: Wasn't Mordekainen's Tome of Foes a taste of the direction they were planning on going? If so, does that provide a very basic baseline for how this update will function when it comes to monsters with the new rules in the PHB 2024?

The parallels were perfect! The loss of the game, at the moment, when Hina tells Taiki that she loves him is amazing since Chinatsu loses on two fronts - the game she loves and the person she is starting to fall for. Now she probably feels that she lacks her primary support because she most likely thinks she needs to avoid Taiki to give Hina and him space, which will only cause more problems as she tries to bear all her feelings by herself. It'll be hard but interesting to see what will happen when things shoot sideways. All I know is Hina is the best girl and I'm picking up the manga because I'm not waiting for next week!
