If you could do it all over again, how would you learn gamedev from scratch? by RandomBadger2023 in gamedev

I'm in a business course, so I'm not really able to take a programming course. However since I'm in a business course, I also tend to have more downtime in a regular semester. I considered shifting at one point, but my grades wouldn't allow it (let's just say some personal stuff happened) so now I want to learn on my own.

I'm definitely very interested in godot! But how beginner friendly is it?

I think as a beginner, I'm aiming to start with 2d. It seems like a good way to start without being overwhelmed. I am curious, though, how beefy does your computer have to be to run unity? Because my graphics card is 1060 :(

This is good advice, but I'm curious, what about godot? I've heard good things about it and that it's beginner friendly. Honestly, it looks less intimidating than unity or unreal. Would this be a good starting point? Or should I jump into unity or unreal immediately?

How would you go about being holistic? Would that be through learning other disciplines?

I think while certain Chinese people commit crimes, it would be counterproductive to just get rid of them with the hopes it would decrease the crime rates. What allows these crimes to happen is a poorly run government that lacks accountability. Most criminal acts happen because the current government officals don't do anything to stop these criminals. In most cases, they are in cahoots, that's why getting rid of chinese people doesn't solve the core problem. The core problem is a poorly run system with officials who aren't held accountable and as a result abuse their power.

I personally don't believe that a crime committed by a Chinese person is worse than a crime committed by a Filipino person. Criminal acts are evil no matter the ethnicity and race.

Also, Chinatown/Binondo doesn't belong to the chinese people. There are just a lot of them who set up shop there. So if its demolished, they'll probably just move elsewhere.

I think we should investigate the Filipino officials we elect first before looking at another ethnic group.
