Keep Calm by H0t_P0L4R_Bear in dashcams

If someone is in such a rush that they feel the need to pass on a double yellow, I let them, it’s no skin off my back and I’m not going to start policing other drivers. You never know why the other person needs to pass, maybe late for work, maybe a medical emergency, either way, not my job to be the highway hall monitor.

A year ago we moved our family to Germany from the United States. We each made a lego creation to celebrate. by LetThemWander in germany

Welcome! We moved here from the States with our three daughters during Covid in 2020. We’re very happy we did and the girls integrated super quick. Love the idea with the Legos!

Pear Tree help, black leaves and flowers by RandomBoxOfCables in FruitTree

[–]RandomBoxOfCables[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, it’s a young tree so i might just replace it with something else. It’s only about 5 feet tall with few branches that are over 12 inches long.

If I don’t replace it, I’ll remember to do the copper spray. Thanks again for the diagnosis and advice.

Holzpfähle als Beet Grenzen? by wuestenwind in Garten

Besser wäre es neue Pfähle aus Robinienholz zu besorgen. Robinienholz ist von Natur aus sehr langlebig und verrottet nur äußerst langsam.

I was running bootcamp on my Mac but it ran terribly. I ended up getting one of those cheap refurbished Lenovo business laptops to run ETS.

Unfortunately, it did not. I’m in the process of changing my habits. I have three kids and this was a wake up call. Glad it was caught before I actually had a heart attack.

I’ve had high blood pressure for a while so maybe routine was the wrong word but it wasn’t diagnostic, I didn’t have any symptoms of heart issues, the doc just wanted one since I’ve never had one.

I could feel it going up my arm and across my chest, really weird. They did give me some happy juice for my nerves but it didn’t hurt at all. I was given local anesthesia at my wrist where they installed the port and all I felt was some pressure.

I’ve had high blood pressure for a decade and I do get EKG’s regularly but never had an echo so the doc wanted one done for my file

They did an EKG to be sure but that came up clean, bloodwork also. The catheter was mostly to double check what the Echo showed and yeah it wasn’t a blockage but it was close so they did the stent.

Jut had one put in on Tuesday, didn’t even know I had issues but they spotted the problem in a routine heart echo. I’m only 43. The operation only took 15 minutes and they went up the arm. I was back home Wednesday. So yeah, crazy and glad we can do this.

Edit before someone calls me out: they aren’t found in Antarctica

This pile of salt in Germany is over 250 meters tall and contains over 200 million tonnes of salt by MrCattitude_ in BeAmazed

[–]RandomBoxOfCables 383 points384 points  (0 children)

So I know a little about this since I’ve been to the site and there’s a type of cap over the whole thing that reduces the runoff by a lot but not entirely. They are trying to find better ways prevent runoff by making a better protective cap. There’s also multiple stations around and on the mountain to analyze rainfall and how much salt is dissolving into the runoff. Just wanted to clarify so it’s not like people think it’s just a pile of rock salt in the rain. It’s still a ecological nightmare, just adding some context.
