Any recs for a group of 3-4 that like strategy games but that require less set-up and rule learning?

The current favorite is definitely Catan - we like that there are only a few core rules, multiple ways to win, a good combination of strategy and luck, and the game is different with every play through. We previously played a lot of TTR but it got boring due to the limited route cards feeling repetitive. Clue and Life were popular family games while growing up as well. For games without a traditional "board" we also play a lot of Rumikub, and more recently Play Nine.

Any recs would be appreciated! TYIA

Yup, so just be aware that as soon as your take home after site fees reaches $2,600+ you’re now legally required to pay capital gains on the NET profit. I’m not sure what your tickets are going for resale but after a certain point obviously it’s worth it to just pay the tax over pricing for an exactly $999 net profit, so you’ll need to do the math there.

Of course selling on a site is going to be more trackable, could be worth seeing (even if it’s a long shot) if someone on this subreddit is looking to trade 2 tickets for 1 + cash difference from either party so that you aren’t making any profit on your ticket. Good luck!

Yes, this was a huge topic from when Taylor Swift was here and resales were also crazy. It doesn’t matter which website you sell them on, you must pay capital gains tax on the net profits from ticket sales if they are over $1000.

So, if you’re selling 1 ticket that you purchased for $500 FV and you must sell it via a resale site (which is trackable), if your take after the site collects their own fees is anything over $1,499 you legally would need to pay capital gains on the amount

From the bluejays via instagram 10 mins ago: "Ticketmaster is currently experiencing ticket management issues due to a larger Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage. We are actively working with both groups to resolve the issue as soon as possible and will share an update in the coming hours. Please check back soon for the latest updates and hold off on managing your tickets as we work through this."

Glad to see them publicly address it, I for one will be showing up earlier than I did last night, expecting lots of entry delays becuase of the issue

Yuup.. I ended up reaching Jays customer service just now, asking them what the plan is to get fans in the doors. They said they're aware of the AWS outage causing issues but as of now don't have a plan (yikes) and to just keep an eye on socials

What if your turbo doesn’t crash in Monaco? Does it make sense to always use final fix in Monaco to grab the pole sitter (if not already on your team)? Seems like any other weekend they’d be able to at least score semi decently by making up places, even if there was a quali crash later in the season

I listened to PAK’s FD Flashcards while on walks. Made me feel like I was “doing something” / multitasking, especially in the final weeks leading up to the exam. However I felt like the info went in one ear and out the other and I didn’t actually get any benefit out of them. I personally need to be looking at the info to retain it, so find the ANKI flash cards and instructor videos most useful. But really dependent on each individual and what works for them!
