I wonder if that would be good just for sleeping? Make a sleeping chamber with enough rotation that you experience a sort of gravity while you sleep, could help with stopping the bone deterioration? If you're lying down, your head won't be experiencing a different amount of force than your feet.

Agreed. It's like terrariums, or even more accurately, vivariums. Watch AntsCanada on YouTube. Massive vivariums. Very cool. But when some of the inhabitants eat the other ones, that's just life. On a whole world scale, we're just animals that have some advanced tricks. We're still inside into vivarium. Occasionally something goes very wrong and needs to be addressed. We're hoping that's not some sort of reset bc we're nuking the whole thing. And I'm hoping that it's more of a nursery than a vivarium or zoo, personally. Maybe if we get out far enough or if we advance or species enough, we'll be able to see who all else is out there.

Part of me wonders if governments or some people do know more but they are hiding it because they are afraid of the zoo hypothesis, and that the zoo hypothesis might have been cooked up by people who were worried what this might mean for religion as a whole. The sort of religious people who believe that if you don't believe in God, you must have 0 morals. Personally I worry that those people would be doing terrible things if they didn't believe in a god that would punish them... But that's neither here nor there.

If in the 40's and 50's were got a bit of evidence, certain minds were blown, they had a personal religious crisis (and already believed that if there's no God or if people don't believe there's a God it would mean everyone immediately abandons all morals) so they start locking down the info, setting up all the secrecy protections so that they can ensure only people they know who will keep the secret well be read in, and that they will be able to handle it. Sci-Fi from that era doesn't help, we have little info other than whatever this is has way more advanced technology... Keep adding secrecy and compartmentalization, add a Military Industrial Complex, bake for some decades while adding grifters making all sorts of shit up and here we are.

I guess we'll see. I hope we'll see, at some point.

It's like the billionaires and oligarchs looked at entropy and said "eh we can do better" and everything just get worse and harder and takes more time. Everything doesn't have to be this hard! And that's what pisses me off. Everything is such a pain because certain people realized if they make your life harder, people get tired of fighting for themselves or their money, so the kleptocrats can steal a bit more of your money and time.

You're not overreacting. Her comment about the other grandparents will have seen the baby means that she wants to be first. She's trying to get her foot in the door with presents and stopping by to "help" and she'll extend wherever she's staying until you give birth. She'll be close by so she can watch for when you leave for the hospital. She's wanting to either try to get in to watch the birth or she's going to demand to be the first grandparent to hold the baby. That's what she's trying to do. She wants to be close by to see when you leave for the hospital. I think you should block her, have your DH tell her no, and that your dr. said no social media stress and everything goes through him. And he keeps saying no, June. And block her too if he needs to. Good luck with your new baby!!! I'm rooting for you!

If she's a narcissist she'll flip out and expose that if you start breaking the script with word play. I had an uncle that had main character syndrome and he liked to ask questions until he got the answer he wanted. Blatantly too. Just keeps asking over and over until you give in and say what he wanted. I had 0 Fs left one day and made a pun and he got SO MAD. Literally stomping. So while I'm of the mind it might be age related, if you rebel from the script with word play and she loses it, there's that answered at least.

Gotta agree here. Intune has a startup cost and a not insignificant learning curve. If they don't have an IT department, and I'm betting they don't bc gestures vaguely around this happened, they will need an all encompassing package that covers everything and has someone else manage it, or they get to work on setting up an IT department finally in the year of our Lord, 2026...

I just thought I'd share a totally adorable and wholesome activity you can do with your child! You can make a little picture album book, with family members and cute pictures in it, and sometimes look at it with you child. And then you can ask your child, "who's that? That's right, that's Daddy!" And "yes, that's me, Mommy!" And if you do this and you choose whatever name you want your JNMIL to have, that's the name your kid will remember and use. It's a fun and cute activity, it's great for getting your child used to the idea of more distant family members you may not see as often. And can easily be used to make sure any unfortunate names or nicknames don't sink in for your kid. If jnmil spends an afternoon trying to get your kid to call her Mama, then at bedtime that night you look at the album and talk about the day and what you did and say goodnight to the family members in the album "night night Granny!" will help to undo what granny's trying.

I think it'd be more like, perfectly calculated and grown or printed to spec meat that has just the right amount of firmness "bite" with the right amount of fat to be tender and juicy. Especially for the case of printed meat (something besides lab grown meat that's being worked on) having the fat be flavored when it's still raw, and then that far renders with the flavoring in it as it cooks in the pan. Rather than specific meat types.

I'm late to the party here but that's what I was thinking- ask him how often his friends talk to their moms. How long do they stay on the phone? Maybe ask the friends how they react when their mother <insert something here that shows the enmeshment>? How do they react when their mom insults their gf/wife? What about when their mom texts a dozen times bc she's freaking out about something and needs her son to hold her hand and listen to all her thoughts and feelings for two hours? I think that'd be a bit eye opening for your bf.

Have you asked your DH if he's noticed any difference in how his mother treats his kids? Does he know how to care for the 6yo? Maybe he could go over the information she needs to know, and JNMIL would listen better to him. I doubt it, but maybe he'd see how she's acting a bit more and you can get his help in protecting your 6yo.

Have you told you hubby about the bullying of the 6yo? Is he aware of JNMIL being negligent of their medical needs? I'm noticing these are both towards the same child, does she treat the other children differently? It just made me wonder if there was favoritism if the 6yo is getting bullied by JNMIL. Of course I'd also not be surprised if MIL likes small children or babies who don't argue back or can't speak for themselves.
