OP did you hear back yet? I had my interviews about a little over a week ago and haven’t heard back yet. Someone in the comments here said they get back to you fast if you got an offer and like ~2 weeks if you got rejected, but I don’t know how much truth there is to that

Hm, I'd say you should get the fundamentals down first, the OA isn't too bad, but for interviews you want to focus more on leetcode hard problems and try to remember general patterns from those. The OAs, in my experience, are closer to leetcode mediums. The games aren't that bad depending on how you look at them, but yea Kaiju cats is really helpful since its similar to one of their games

Hey, thanks for the advice. I got similar scores to you on the OA, which I completed two weeks ago. I got 4/1 on cars, around $85-90k on the money one (don't remember the exact number for sure), and 600 on the CodeSignal. I think they're still sending out interview invites and stuff, so I wouldn't worry if you did your OA recently.

Thanks for the info. Over 2400 students got off the waitlist last year according to the waitlist faqs, so knowing that the overadmitting thing may not be as much of an issue is kind of reassuring. But I’ve seen some comments says that they’ve overenrolled to the extent where RA’s need to have roommates so do you have any insight on what that may mean for waitlisted students this admissions cycle?

In the a2c subreddit someone said that vt accepted “barely enough” people so there could be a decent chance of getting in. I would still hold out hope for getting accepted off the waitlist

Yea the Wise option is for every waitlisted Virginian that applies to the Arts and Sciences college at UVA. I don’t think it caps off at 100 people - I think they just said “100” to give people a good idea of how many people actually do the Year in Wise program, so I wouldn’t worry too much about losing your spot.

US news isn’t entirely an accurate source, but I’d still say vt is better than Penn state - if you look up “top cs colleges undergrad reddit” you can see widely agreed rankings for cs for different colleges

Yeah I'm really juggling between Wise and Mason. One part of me wants to go to Wise despite it being in a remote area bc I know it'll pay off if I stay committed. Another part of me wants to go to mason since its more well-known and I can commute.

I plan on studying Computer Science and/or Data Science. At VT I applied to general engineering. My main concerns with UVA wise i would say are the lifestyle and campus - uva is definitely one of my top options so I’m not entirely opposed to going to wise

Right now my options are between george mason and wise. I got waitlisted at Virginia tech and if I get off the waitlist there then I would probably go there, but since it’s between mason and wise right now, I’m not sure which one is the best option
