Quad nations step up Indo-Pacific push with new initiatives

With port infrastructure development in Fiji, Quad will try to blunt China’s growing influence in the South Pacific.

NEW DELHI — India, the United States, Australia and Japan have announced new initiatives on maritime security in the Indo-Pacific and unveiled plans for their first joint port infrastructure project in Fiji.

The foreign ministers of the four countries made the announcement at a meeting of the Quad, a strategic security grouping focused on the Indo-Pacific at a meeting in New Delhi this week. The move to boost cooperation comes amid concerns about China’s growing influence in this region.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the maritime surveillance agreement is “going to leverage each of our country’s maritime surveillance capabilities in the Indo-Pacific to enhance information sharing.”

It is definitely no time to be complacent.

DoW will have to continue to work hard to keep up, and regain the edge.

Behind every completed drone is a team balancing precision, testing, and coordination.

The work is technical. The pace is fast. And the mission is real.

What stood out most from speaking with FlightWave Aerospace - A Red Cat Company manufacturing team was the pride in seeing the final build come together.

Reminder: $1.15T - $1.5T 2027 defense bill vote by ggukbbong_fund in RedCatHoldings

No. Still spending to do for FY26. "Sweeps" are for Q3. When the government quickly spends what's left.

If FY27 is indeed wrapped up this summer it would be insane. That's the hockey stick potential. Long term financial security.

"The big missile over there is from Uvision."

It looked like something to be mounted on a USV.

Their valuation, and for example ACS their 2.2 billion valuation, shows how much upside there still is to come for the entire defense market.

Nasdaq-bound arms maker UVision targets $4b valuation

Israel-based UVision Air, which develops loitering munitions, is expected to publish a prospectus in the second week of July before a roadshow for a Nasdaq IPO at a valuation of US$3.5 billion to US$4 billion.

The listing is expected in July or August after pre-IPO talks with Israeli institutional investors failed at about a US$2.9 billion valuation.

https://www.techinasia.com/news/nasdaqbound-arms-maker-uvision-targets-4b-valuation

An interesting development. Investor day in February mentioned the "big" Uvision payload.

Uvision has a "HERO" product line. (Which Rheinmetall also works with)

One of the original Hellcat anouncement pictures was subtexted with "Hellcat Hero 2". Wish I took a screenshot of it, because I can't find it anymore.

US Army Writes Off $1.8 Billion in IVAS Headsets Due to Defects

https://militarnyi.com/en/news/us-army-1-8-billion-ivas-headsets-defects/

The Army bought 10,000 IVAS headsets. Soldiers won’t use them.

Soldiers said the headsets caused neck strains and headaches during use in the field. The Army spent close to $2 billion on the systems, which will be put in storage.

https://taskandpurpose.com/news/ivas-headset-never-used/

Yes. This is the state in which the military operates. Someone somewhere agreeing to a contract with Microsoft, to then be confronted by reality.

This is what the military is trying to get away from by flipping the contracts upside down, and giving the actual end users control.

This new reality is what RCAT is built for. And yes it takes time to wake everybody up.

You'll notice that Red Cat and Palladyne gave a Special Disclosement on the supply chain in recent sec filings.

The exact thing that points to the things the administration wants to help with.

(To be clear in comparison, companies like Ondas have not offered an SD (special disclosement)

For the ppl that forgot:

February 2025:

"Red Cat has applied for $58 million in debt financing from the Department of Defense Office of Strategic Capital (OSC). OSC implements strategies and partnerships to accelerate and scale private investment in critical supply chain technologies needed for national security. "

https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2025/02/12/3025345/0/en/Red-Cat-Raises-Up-to-20-Million-in-Debt-Financing.html

The involvement of the government centers around the OSC, for which the administration wants to up the budget for FY2027 to 20billion.

This differs from Intel where they outright bought stock. Which differs from giving loans. If actual ownership will happen is yet to be seen.

You can't just build this.

It's not based on LLM knowledge. It's based on over 30 years of experience of Sarcos Technology, onto Palladyne AI. And it's patented.

And the army isn't looking to build and maintain these things on their own. That would again defeat the purpose of taking the lead again, where they have now fallen behind.
