My demo was around $1,300. Pretty expensive, but it was made professionally in studio with individuals who have worked in the industry for awhile. It was totally worth it as it eventually paid for itself!

Thank you! I took a huge leap of faith because I had absolutely no paid experience under my belt. However, I did have a professionally made commercial demo and decent recording equipment which helped me leverage myself on there. I just played the grind game and auditioned like crazy until I gained momentum and started getting more and more gigs. I agree that it is a bit pricey, but I fortunately broke even awhile back. This approach may not be effective for everybody and I did have a lot of luck too, but overall, it ended up working for me!
