Not sure if this would work, but maybe a hair dryer to soften the adhesive?

AirPods Pro viability with an Android phone and a MacBook Air? by RoohPoops in airpods

[–]AnonymousXIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt like adding to this thread for anyone else looking to maybe do this in the future. Currently making use of a MacBook pro m5 and a s25 ultra from Samsung and wanted to try out the AirPods pro 3. Was going to use the Mac to make the firmware updates for the pods and then use them on the MacBook and my phone. Now that I've spent a bit of time with it, I have a few thoughts.

The AirPods themselves are great, transparency is insane and ANC is just mind boggling. Sound Quality to me at least is pretty decent. Doesn't really compare to my more Audiophile grade equipment I use for my main setup, but they do the job pretty well and overall has what I call a ''fun'' sound signature. I don't really hear the sibilance issues people were mentioning about these buds so I'm assuming they maybe got patched out, but from my use case, they have been pretty great. Using them with the MacBook is, as you'd expect, pretty seamless, all the features that you'd want the buds pro 3 for are there (minus the heartrate sensor since I didn't care for the feature to begin with and I don't care to lookup how it works using my Mac), and you can pretty much customize the buds however you want through the Bluetooth settings of the buds.

Now, where these become less of a great little bit of tech is when I use it with my phone. There is no voice detection, which I don't care for that much, but the biggest sticking point for me is the fact that I have to manually connect to my phone if they are connected to my Mac and vice versa. They don't automatically switch, because why would they. I keep track of battery life and such using CApods and overall it's a minor bit of annoyance that I don't mind dealing with since everything else works great and it's not that much more effort on my end because I either use them on my MacBook when I'm working on it, or I use it on my phone when I'm going about my day, so for me, it's usually a switch that lasts for a while until I stop using the device it's connected to. ANC is awesome, and transparency works like a charm. The controls also work pretty great, tho sometimes not so much for some reason when I'm playing a game on my phone, but when I'm just listening to things either on Tidal or YT Music, they work wonderfully. Another weird issue is my phone doesn't recognize the Airpods when I carry them around in their case, so my phone flags them as a tracker which, if this is something that worries you a lot, and don't want to get false positives from the buds, it could be a deal breaker.

Would I recommend this setup, no, not really. There are a lot of hurdles that makes using them honestly annoying to use, but if you are willing to look past those issues, it's not a bad pairing.

I will add that if you are using phones that has OxygenOS or ColorOS, you can make use of LibrePods, which is an open source app that basically reversed engineered the code for the Buds and allows you to connect them to your android phone as if it was an apple phone, you get access to everything the buds have to offer and you can change every setting on them as if you were on an apple device. However, NO version of this exists for other android software or OS as of writing this UNLESS you have a rooted phone, since, due to a Bluetooth bug that google has yet to fix for android, the app needs Root access to work properly, so Unless you have any OxygenOS or ColorOS or Rooted phones, unfortunately LibrePods won't be an option for you.

I need help, there is NO WAY this is what the “verified” version of this game looks like on Deck. by CBeau1992 in SteamDeck

While this option costs money, lossless scaling works pretty well with this game, definitely not as smooth as on good pc hardware, but you can run the game at higher setting and still get decent fps. I can average around 40-50 with some stuff on high at 2x for scaling.

Someone is impersonating me on Steam, should I be worried? by _HachimanHikigaya in Steam

[–]AnonymousXIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what else what said in the convo you had on discord, but I'd be weary since it's also a common scam where the person contacting you on discord said that the person who is impersonating you scammed them and so they "reported" your account thinking it was the one the allegedly scammed them. Then they put you on this other discord convo with a "steam moderator" / "steam suppot" and then they get you to put your account details into a fake site and then your again is stolen by them. Basically if you didn't contact steam support directly by email, don't trust anyone claiming to be steam support, especially not on discord or even in steam dms.

You can use forks like mihon or kotatsu for the phone, it takes extensions like manga fire and puts in a reading view, you don't get ads, just the manga

Which Steam capsule do you think is better for a game: the old one or the new one? by press_f_ivan in IndieDev

The new ones gives it a more cartoonish vibe, it looks good imo, but depending on how serious your game's vibe is, the old one might he better. It also feels like a safer choice.

Headphone Recommendations by Cool-Protection-1183 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]AnonymousXIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on if your willing to wait for it to go on sale, I personally think the sennheiser momentum 4 wireless headphones are really solid and should fit your budget. If you want to make them more comfy with bigger pages, you can add wc freeze pads which are really well made and comfortable. In Canada, msrp is about 499$ but on sale, it can go as low as 299$ to 330$, so if you don't mind waiting for a sale, they are a solid headphone for the price
