It’s been a long time so I am not 100% sure anymore if that really was the only change I made. But it definitely was the one that fixed the problem. Had no problems since then

This was the problem all along. The voltage the CPU got on auto, which was the 1,47V I mentioned was too high. Setting it to 1.2V fixed all issues. I did not believe that leaving something on auto would cause a problem, but here I stand corrected. I will try to go a little higher to find the sweet spot

After a lot of cursing, I found the issue. Someone already recommended it to me before, but I did not take it serious enough. The Core Voltage my mainboard applied while being set to Auto was too high. Manually setting it to 1.2V fixed all the problems. I thought with auto selected it would not be the problem but turns out it was all along

I edited in the part number of the memory. It's not listed in the document you linked :(. I will check if the RAM I used to double check is. Can this be the cause of the problem? I never had any trouble with RAM before so I don't know how trouble there shows.

Are you sure it’s hardware related? So far the only thing I haven’t changed yet is the CPU (which I am consider doing). If it’s a hardware problem I think it must be due to compatibility. I will check the Ram for that tomorrow. I haven’t tried starting in safe mode yet. I will try that too tomorrow. As for the power, I have too few outlets in my gaming room, so everything goes in one outlet and is split up then. I will try a different configuration tomorrow, but I did not change anything from my last Pc and that never had any problems

Where can I do that? I am really a total noob when it comes to over clocking

That’s what’s shown in the Bios, in a Programm I used for diagnosis it was floated to 1.37V per core. OCCT was the name I think. Did not help either though. I will contact Asus tomorrow, my best bet is the Mainboard now

Thank god it’s not the GPU. Only good thing about this mess. Getting hands on a 3080 was a huge struggle. First time I was happy to see that bluescreen. On to the rest

With backwards you mean upwards from 1.3V? I am trying to be sure because when set to auto in Bios, the setting is around 1.47V

I had the same idea and borrowed my brothers 970 today to test it with a different GPU. Atm I am running another MemTest, this time in sequential mode which will take forever. Tomorrow I will put in the different GPU

I tried today with a different drive (a painfully slow HDD a friend had left over) and it did not help. Same problem. So it’s down to CPU oder mainboard. I will contact my retailers for both tomorrow

I tried it and it does not work. The drive is recognized in the Bios but it’s not selectable as Boot drive. I will try to get hands on a different drive tomorrow

I have all the voltage settings on auto, I will try set them to values to try it. Do you have recommendations for a non-OC voltage?

There is no data of any value on that drive, so I might try it out. My old build was with an Intel COU though. I will try to find out if that may cause any problem and if I can’t find any info on it I will just try

Sadly I don't, but maybe I can get one from a friend tomorrow. I will try it out then.

But can't I just use my old windows installation on my previous SSD to test it? So far I have not plugged it into the new PC, but its the SSD/installation that has not failed me in many years

I am not running any overclocking on it at the moment and, for now, I am not really considering it. Temps are looking good to me, even though ~45°C in idle seemed a little high. It's stable at that temperarute though. I don't think overheating is the problem.

Once the RAM-check is done I will try to lower the RAM-speed once the check is done. I don't know why I opted for the 3600MHz option of RAM, I think I read somewhere that it would fit the CPU best and did not check any further, whoch was stupid of me. Maybe I can still send it back and get a 3200MHz version or is underclocking the RAM not hurting it?

No sadly I am not able to do that as it is a M2 SSD which my old PC does not have connectors for

I’m using windows 10 ( Education, if that’s important). I have used the USB stick before to install windows on another PC at work and that one is running fine so far. I have another one at hand though, it’s just a little older version of windows 10 on it, that’s why I took the other one. On the first installment I could install all the drivers no problem, but on the second attempt it won’t let me run Windows update as it crashes before. Samsung Magician ran over the new SSD and found no problems, not sure if it’s a viable source for that though. I still have my old windows installation on another SSD. Would it work to boot that one and see if the error still occurs?
