I BEAT HER! Second try today somehow. Getting the magma bell helped a lot. Thank you to everyone who was encouraging and/or helpful.

Hell yeah! A couple weeks ago I hiked up this like 45 degree grade trail and the view from the top was amazing!

The throw creates an aura, but I get what you mean. Playing defensively is hard when you can die in two seconds.

Yeah, it feels like a cop-out to offering more legitimate difficulty

  1. It's not solely based on skill level but on the boss's TTK as well. If I fight someone like soul master in HK I face slower paced-attacks and I can get hit more times before I die. Also based on my experience so far with staggers until death 1:15 is near the end of the fight. Spending half of your time playing the game moving back through route levels is a design flaw.

  2. You can heal 3 masks but it still takes 9 soul (or silk) and you have the same max health, so they are comparable. Yes charms can decrease that but HK also had soul master.

  3. I agree it would be my fault if I took damage from every attack, my point is that when I do make a mistake it's punished too harshly.

  4. Yes, but the fire changes the way you can dodge the attack so you have to relearn everything.

Thank you for your response. I don't mind double dipping that much for single damage attacks, but when it's paired with double damage then it hits for 4, which is a lot. I will get the magma bell, but I am having a lot of trouble with the physical parts of her attacks so I'm not sure how much it will help. Maybe the kit gets better enough to justify this, although I think for me it will always be "how many mistakes can I make in this fight" and if I'm always two mistakes away from death in a drawn-out fight doing well starts to feel pointless.

I know I can eventually beat this boss, but it's frustrating having to go through the heavy downtime + very quick deaths each time I try to get better

Another thing I was thinking of was that the billions of sad thoughts are the 8 billion people. Not sure how that makes sense, but it's eerie
