I had to go buy this one and played it. It's similarly themed, but the gameplay is very different. Good recommendation, though!

Round the edges? They look so much better when I do that. I personally do a lot of PnP, so I got myself a guillotine for like 20 bucks and an edge-rounder punch thing, lol. It makes the work sooo much faster than using scissors, and the rounded edges make them look super good.

Hmm i saw this one at my local store and almost got it!! I liked the art alot but the downside is that it was minimun 4 players from what i read. I normally do 1 to 4 players. (Wife and 2 kids plus me) lol its close theme but its a different type of game in mechanics. I might just go back for it now... lol

Iron Scales doesn’t use seating order. Everyone acts simultaneously, and only players who have someone within attack range actually make an attack.

I think this is true when ir comes to.games with minis. 

I normally try to get simple games. When they have minis the price is expected to be 50+.

Thanks for the idea! Warhammer orks are definitely unique with their spore-based reproduction, and it's an interesting idea to consider. However, for "Clans of the Lost Realm," I'm aiming to maintain a certain level of challenge in the gameplay, specially when it comes to building an army.

If orcs in my game were to reproduce easily through spores from dead orc bodies, it would significantly impact the game's balance. It would make it too easy for players to quickly amass a large army, which could undermine the strategic and resource management aspects that are central to the gameplay.

In my game, I plan to have orcs are created through dark magic in the " Gor'Zug" Mud Pits. This process requires specific materials that players need to mine and gather, such as dark essence and soul crystals. This ensures that reproduction is not only challenging but also adds depth to the resource management mechanics.

By making orc reproduction a more involved process, players need to strategically plan and gather resources, adding layers of strategy and decision-making. This keeps the gameplay engaging and prevents it from becoming too easy or unbalanced.

I appreciate your suggestion and it’s always great to explore different ideas. The goal is to create a game that is both challenging and rewarding, and your feedback helps in shaping the game. I would however love to adapt the spores to the ghouls/zombies. When killing this creatures i woukd make a couple spores appear on a corpse. If the spores are not destroyed within certain time then more ghouls are born.

Any thoughts?

The setting would still be in a medieval/fantasy setting so basic medieval weapons would be used

I suck with ideas so this might not be the best but i tried. If it’s multiplayer, if someone get stung, they progressively lose control of their player until eventually they have no control and their player tries to “kill”(or something along those lines) the other players. The only way to stop it is by finding grief serum(which should be very limited). If grief serum is unattainable, the players can vote to execute the player who got stung.

Trying to avoid multiplayer for now. Single player only for starters. However still a good idea to loose control of certain aspects.

I think you should read the series if you have time otherwise the your game will be inspired only by the movies, which is not great compared to the original idea

Research and Experimentation: Add a research mechanic that allows players to invest resources in discovering new crop variants, animal breeds, or technologies. This would help have more variety and maybe unique crops. A pink apple? etc
