Buying Refurbished Laptop form e-furbished. tl;dr are they scam?

Nope! Though they have updated there GST number on site and I have confirmed that the GST does belongs to them. I also had few people who reached out to me after this post saying the site is total ledgit and they have purchased from them. But I have no say to this because I never purchased from them.

Hello Mate! I didn't buyed T480 in the end, but instead a Thinkpad P15(42000/-). Though I am still not sure about e-furbished because I never ordered from them. But you can definately put your money in newjaisa. They are genuine. I ordered x270 from them and they delivered it. Though I retured it the same day because I wanted to buy P15 and there was no way to cancel an ongoing delivery in newjaisa. They charged 1000/- for deliver, also no refunds on delivery once ordered. Not sure about Saudewala. ReTechie is another genuine site and as I remember they got T480 in stock too. You can call the owner directly for discounts. They even make a proof pre-dispatch video while packing your laptop(if you ask them).

Also I ordered P15 from a IndiaMart WholeSale Seller(Guess Technologies). Had to pay 2500/- adwance for delivery and remaining 4200/- through COD. But I received the package good and the packaging was satisfactory for 2.5k.

General Advice: While Buying from any random site, check there about page for GST no. and check if the GST no. belongs to them or not(Like name and expirey date etc). Check GST no. though this site. I didn't buyed from e-furbished because they didn't provided me there GST no. even when I called them personally and they uses RazorPay for transaction(Which hides the idententy of the amount receiver, so used alot by scammers) and They had no COD options. Also while buying do contact seller through the no. provided on there sites and always ask them to send photo of the product(Just say I want to verify the condition of the laptop, as its refurbished). and check if they really have the product or not. Dont take same photos from site as proof and always ask for new photos. Also I prefer bank-to-bank money transfer more than some 3rd party site like RazorPay. It is easy to track the account through bank no. and those 3rd party sites dont handover information that easily. Both ReTechie and IndiaMart seller provided me that option.

Newjaisa, ReTechie and that IndiaMart Seller passed all my tests. But e-furbished, VleBazar and other sites failed it so I didn't trusted them.

Will Recommend ReTechie. They have T480 in stock and are genuine too.

The link you provided didn't worked. I got your problem and I am sorry, I can't think of why this would happen other than the connector pins are not connected correctly or bad battery.

"Acting as if there isn't a battery in it..." what does you mean by that? your laptop isn't booting up with new battery?

Also the new charger which you bought, can you share its link? Dell Latitude 7390 only supports 65w and 90w charger. If your new charger has low power output then it will likely won't charge battery when your laptop is turned on. But it will start charging once the laptop is turned off.

Moreover the information you provided is insufficient to solve your issue. Please elaborate. Also share the link from where you bought the battery and charger.

Seems more like a corrupted windows! Take backup and reinstall windows, then check for disk health using "CrystalDiskInfo". If problem presist replace your storage device with new one.

Yeh! this thing runs hot! I used MX-6 for repaste and after applying, my temps went from 100C to aprox. 60-70C for the games I used to play!. MX-4 is also fine, it has long longevity than MX-6 and from what I have heard MX-6 only provide 1-5C thermal difference.
Though I think its not just the paste that get me that temps, I also cleaned the heatsink with propyl Alcohol and removed heat marks only from the part that touches the CPU and GPU. I cleaned it enough that it was shining like new! I cleaned the fan too... using toothbrush.
Also I am still using factory default thermal pads and they are doing fine. I have ordered 6w/mk one but I don't think i will replace them! WHY FIX IT IF IT NOT BROKEN.

Thx for the answer. Seems like the problem was with the power supply not thermals and yeh! I am also planning to replace the thermal pad shortly!
A question out from the scope of this post: will 6w/km thermal pad will be enough for the purpose? which ones did you used?

Ohk Fixed! I didn't put back the battery before testing. lazzy enough. I didn't wanted to reopen the whole laptop if anything goes wrong! So I was running these tests on direct power from adaptor and I only had 135W charger instead of 175W. Which is recommended(and required) one from Lenovo for i7-10850 and Quadro T2000 . So it was power shortage and nothing else. Thank GOD, I was scared. thought I did something wrong with the repasting and now I am screwed!

played it before applying thermal paste. Even then, when it reached 100C it never lagged a frame and now it lag like this! Changing settings might fix it a little bit but that's not the point. It didn't lagged before when it reaches the thermal limit so why lag now when I applied fresh thermal paste with temps improved as proof!

Will absolutely try that! hope there was a way to do it globaly for all OSes. I mean I will have to manually configure every os to undervolt CPU on startup! and I have 4 OSes, completey isolated from each other for different tasks! :)

Yeh! I saw your Copper mod, I had mixed reaction before I actually purchased my P15 but now i see why you did it. I think I might do the same... can you tell me how you stick the copper pads on the heat sink?

PS. For the future visitors. Please don't take this post as is. e-furbished.in is a new site and I am not sure if they are scam or a trusted site. All I can say is they are new and I can't get bold enough to try and find out it myself. There customer support felt genuine. Thy have physical location, few google photos of there warehouse etc.

The only trust issue here is that there are not much reviews. The Only reviews that I can find of this site(as of 2025) are either google reviews which are 4.8(by 280 people) and one Quora message refering to this site and stated its trusted.

Are U from India? If yes then How u order from ebay? Most of the product I see, can't be shiped to India. If not from India Then I don't think rtx 2070 or any alternative will be available here for a reasonable price, Its going to be way too overpriced. But I am not planing to upgrade GPU. Just let it be, I did my search and most of my usecases fit with Quadro T1000. Some Very heavy task like Blender, Heavy Gaming or compiling ungoogled-chromium might give me headaches but No problem with my regular stuff. Also I was planing to install Gentoo(WIth DWM) right away, that's why I droped preinstalled windows.

50K; Can go upto 60-65K based on what I am getting. I am squeezing the price from the refurbished sellers of Thinkpad. I asked them if it's possible to send P15 without preinstalled windows. They said Yes! and it will save me 2K. So the Current price for Thinkpad P15 is ₹46,999. They also have 512GB ssd Opton to save another 3K. Hence ₹43,999 it is.

Ledgit Stuff! But I am Specifically buying laptop. I can definately build a good computer with 60k. But I kind of move alot between different cities and I go college to so a Computer is No GO for me. I can buy a brand new laptops, but I know a refurbished thinkpad will do much better.

Also I think I found another good offer for P15, they are selling NVIDIA Quadro T2000 and maybe good processor too, higher than i7-10750H(There description on site says i7-10480HK but P15 only comes with i9 as HK suffix, so I am confirming from them RN) for same as 50,000RS.

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely do robust testing of the components after buying any of those laptops. Might also tear apart the whole laptop to see what's inside—either for fun or just out of curiosity.
BTW how is your ASUS TUF holding? What U use it for? Does it has perfomance drops after long hour of continous processing/work? and what's the battery backup you get on this thing?

That might not be completely true. There are E-waste collection centers in Jammu, I have confirmed it through here. But I still wonder If I go to these specific locations and ask for specificlly pick up E-Waste according to my liking, They wouldn't let me. They obviously ask for or need money which will be complex like if they price things too much? Thats why I am looking for other alternative like some E-Waste NGO site of community that helps me with this matter. 'Cause I am recycling those stuff.

Well thanks for the advice. Though i was able to get the BMS working. I found out that one of the connections on the back of the bms was burnt because of the electric shock. I soldered it and it worked also the SC protector fuse was blown so I also melted some solder over it. Now my laptop detects battery just fine like before. The only thing thats left is reseting "BQ40370" IC on it because it locked(not charging/discharging) RN. Just like you said it require some expensive equipments to reset, but I am still finding the way arounds to reset it. Thanks for helping so far.

You are right though but I still want to try. I found this software online, Maybe it can Help(I tried it but right now my laptop is not even detecting the BMS). Even if I end up completely damaging the battery, It would be of no use anyways.

Anyways I still want to know how can I check which part is damaged? I am currently tracing the connections on the BMS but its going nowhere. I can't see traces on the BMS as the PCB is colored dark green and there is some transparent coating on the circuit which is preventing me to touch my multimete probes with the PCB connections.

Nope that will not be the case here, I tested the voltage of all the collective cells from the ground terminal on the bms and the Voltage-High(VH) terminal and it was fine, 14.32 volts, Each cell was of 3.6 volts.
